I've got concerns about AVP.
From what I hear he runs a very rudimentary west coast (WC) system lacking in any innovation.
That clip someone posted of a breakdown of Maye in the Jets game was enlightening. He put a lot of the blame on AVP for piss poor route concepts that make it hard for the QB to get to a second read.
And given we can't run the ball with outside zone, a high-school coach could easily develop a defensive game plan against us.
I think AVP might be a good person to develop a QB to learn the WC system, but there is the sentiment that it doesn't play to Maye's strengths as it is predicated on careful timing and precise footwork.
Ultimately, I'm hopeful that if Maye runs some form of WC offense in the future, he'll have been given a solid foundation by AVP, but hard to see right now how AVP's offense is going to get us anywhere.
