Greg Bedard skewers AVP

I've got concerns about AVP.

From what I hear he runs a very rudimentary west coast (WC) system lacking in any innovation.

That clip someone posted of a breakdown of Maye in the Jets game was enlightening. He put a lot of the blame on AVP for piss poor route concepts that make it hard for the QB to get to a second read.

And given we can't run the ball with outside zone, a high-school coach could easily develop a defensive game plan against us.

I think AVP might be a good person to develop a QB to learn the WC system, but there is the sentiment that it doesn't play to Maye's strengths as it is predicated on careful timing and precise footwork.

Ultimately, I'm hopeful that if Maye runs some form of WC offense in the future, he'll have been given a solid foundation by AVP, but hard to see right now how AVP's offense is going to get us anywhere.

Why is anyone critically breaking down play calling in garbage time. There was no game plan for Maye at that point, I'm sure they didn't run anything difficult or tricky, and they didn't even try to score. It was entirely just about dipping Maye's toes in the water.

When I look at the play designs of some of our Opponents' I want to barf when compared to ours.

I get the same feelings when I look at the qb og other teams compared to us
You know who might be morphing into another Geno Smith?? Mailk Willis Look at his QB rating and completion percentage the last two games. Green Bay have a really nice Back-up QB.

Did we weaponise the offence yet or has that been put on hold?

They interviewed 16 candidates so maybe more like Plan L.
Contrast that with how they interviewed all of 0 candidates for the HC position, because Mayo sweet talked Kraft on a trip to Israel years ago, and was impressed how Mayo made everyone gather round when they were bored at the airport.

You have an inept quarterback, just like in 2020. So why not throw some trick plays at the opponent like McDaniels did in 2020. I want to say Myers and Edelman both threw some passes.

Yes I saw that. Titans gave up on him too soon.. they chose to go with mayonnaise man Levis. To further your point PatsFan2.. look at Dalton he put up 36 points.. we have 30 points as a team on the season. Ugh!!!

Don't forget no play action which is especially incompetent when you have an under performing line/QB and a very good RB.

That said, I am ok to wait till Maye plays next year and pass final judgment. I also wonder if we could better OC candidates next year now that we have a promising rookie QB to entice them.

Kevin O'Connell at the Vikings has made Sam Darnall a top 5 QB. AVP has made Jacobi Brissett a bottom #32 QB.

I heard rumors last Offseason of possibly signing Dalton I did this bwoy I'm taking that back.

Bottom 32 what's he 29 - 30 - 31ist?? That's being awfully kind.

Correction 39 points on the season. Yeah I gave Brissett the benefit of the doubt becuase he was a veteran and he knew the offense. I regret it. We should have taken Flacco at least.

Mayo aside. The OC job wasn't as desirable.. becuase typically OCs have aspirations of becoming HCS. With all around changing in the organization and the QB position unsettled.. I'm at the point now of 3 weeks into the season the offense is worse than last season..

It's no benefit of playing Brissett the young WRs cannot grow, the offense will never excel, and Drake is the qb we look at 3 for a reason. There is more growth in letting Drake play so we know we have our QB.

We thought we had a upgrade over Mac we are literally worse.
