Greg Bedard skewers AVP

I think Caley's ship has sailed around here he probably feels slighted by the organization.
Oh absolutely. If he's not coming back for the OC position and $3.5 million, he's not ever coming back. But some team is going to hire him and I'll bet he ends up pretty good.

If the reports are to be believed Nick Caley was their guy and AVP was Plan B.

Yes, word is Caley was offered the job, but said no. I think Caley was pissed that the Pats denied him to leave to Vegas with Josh and then Belichick promoting Patricia over him rather than giving him the OC job. And then putting O'Brien in the next year. Rumors were that Belichick was worried that Caley would do well and take a head coaching gig a year or two after being the OC leaving Belichick having to find another OC. It was a bad move since Caley refused to sign an extension and bolted to the Rams before last season for a lateral move to be their TE's coach.

I know much of that was Belichick's deal. But Caley could blame Wolf and/or Kraft from blocking him from going to Vegas to be Josh's OC and still holds a grudge. It probably set his chances of ever being a head coach back 2-4 years.

Way to early to get too critical but I'm not sure what he's done that we are supposed to be encouraged by?
This is where I am at. I don't want to bury him after 3 weeks but at this point this is what he has to work with on offense and he needs to figure out a way to utilize the guys on the roster. His comments after the TNF debacle didn't make me feel any better either. He said something about the loss being on him since they "earned the right to pass" or something ridiculous like that. The Jets defense has had trouble stopping the run and the only thing we could do offensively through two weeks was run. So what does AVP do? Try and pass against the best cornerback trio in the league behind a banged up offensive line.

Becuase it's over as bad as it's painted to be and never as good as something can be made out as well. You have to step back and look at the overall Picture.

Why we are Here.
Continued decline after what we thought was a build back in 2021.

We've been in the situation since brady left. No this isn't about bashing BB it's about as a fan recognition of how we got here. This is still a rebuilding team the roster is Incomplete. Try not to loose sleep over being over analytical.

At this point I just want Drake to play.. I'd rather loose with him at QB then gain absolutely nothing by watching Brissett. I know you don't possess the capacity to do that but you can try.
I don’t agree. 50% of the time it’s better than it seems and 50% of the time it’s worse that seems.
Ultimately as a fan I look for confidence in the people making the decisions to gauge which direction it’s probably going in.
Saying an OC who is over his head is fine because he changed up 5 QBs when 4 failed and the 5th probably wasn’t listening to him, while they led the league in turning the ball over isn’t looking at the big picture, it’s scratching and clawing to find it just making up reasons to kid yourself.

He's with a Great Offensive mind in Sean Mcvay one of my favorites.

Or Caley didn’t want to work for the least experienced HC in the NFL in an organization that wouldn’t commit to spending to the cap.

Caley should have been OC before Patricia and Judge.

Belichick really screwed him over. McDaniels wanted him to be the OC in Vegas, but Belichick blocked him from leaving. And then gave Patricia the OC job because he knew Patricia would never leave the Pats as long as Belichick was there and he feared Caley would take the first attractive head coaching job offered.

Once again a young QB in a **** situation in NE, no line no WRs and a coordinator who’s predictable.

Wow pretty grimy move by BB there I bet there is no love loss between Caley and BB.

BTW, I said before and I will say again. I am not worried about any predictability in the offense right now. It is new coaching staff, a new system, a lot of inexperienced receivers, a limited QB, and an unstable o-line that they are trying to figure out the best players. You can expect some predictability in a situation like this. If they are this predictable in late October/early November then it is an issue.

Mayo shutting his pie hole about what the Pats will be doing in the week leading up to the game will help.

It has been so long since we have had a head coach who says anything more than a few grumbles and "We are onto (insert the next team on the schedule)" that I do not even know anymore if Mayo is too loose with his lips or saying what most coaches say to the media.

Well saying, "Were going to run this week", "Were gonna pass this week" can't be helpful regardless of what other coaches are saying.

IDK, I don't know how much stock other teams put in these comments. I am sure that considering the Pats' strengths are their running game which is the Jets' weakness, the Jets prepared for the Pats to run a lot especially in short week no matter what Mayo said. the Jets probably would think Mayo was bluffing.

Caley would have been the OC.. was pretty much his job say no To. Wolf likely told him Brissett was going to be the bridge QB.. that probably made his choice to stay with McVay.

No, Maye should not be out there until the line has proven itself capable of him not getting hit every series. What is the rush? The team needs 6 more starting players to compete for the playoffs. Embrace the suck. Love BB, but he should have let the team bottom out and build for the future, the day Brady moved on.
Oh i agree with you. On maye it's not about rushing him. If you saw post I had mentioned when we get back Strange, Sow and Lowe we would be more at least better off playing Drake then. Understand this. There's is nothing to be gained by playing Jacoby. Nothing!! We can loose playing Drake.. we need to see our future now.. Bill did let the team bottom out. That's why we have Drake!
