Maye must play

Maye can do everything Milton can do but better. Milton isn’t an NFL level QB.

People talk like Alt is Orlando Pace… he’s not. He is very good but I’m not convinced he will ever be elite.
He is markedly better than any player starting on the Patriots offensive line right now.

Also, we'll see in time just how stark the difference is between the #3 overall pick and the 6th round pick. Revisit in 10 years.

You seriously think they won't invest heavily in the OL this draft?
They 'invested' this year, taking guards to play tackle on day 3. Some people considered that 'heavy investment'.

So yes, I expect more 'heavy investment'. So far this 2024 draft has been a complete waste and whiff.

What does that have to do with injuries reducing an already borderline OL to a smoking hole in the ground? Other than assuaging your personal grudge against the team?
There are always injuries and the team should plan for that. That is the job of the GM. The GM had a press conference and told us the OL was solid.

The JETS made a lot of moves in the off-season to shore up their OL and it looked good Thursday night.

We signed Okorafor, were told that Anderson was fully healed, and on draft night the GM said Wallace could play LT. How did all that work out? Or you think it is a conspiracy theory by people that hate the Pats?

You could expect a different result than embarrassment if the organization didn’t mail in the off season.
You seem to want to give them a pass and think they were handed this roster when they had over $60 million and a draft to improve with.
You are using their failure in the off season as an excuse for the failure if the team rather than holding them accountable.

No, I'm just not delusional enough to think they could fix it all in one off season.

2025’s tackle options aren’t very strong. All have big question marks. They will draft one of the top 3.

So Maye is a waste? Polk is a waste? Baker is a waste? Robinson is a waste?
Again, only an idiot thought this would be fixed in one draft.

Who said they had to fix all of it? Wouldn’t it be nice if they fixed any of it?

Answer this for me.

After resigning their own FAs and bringing back about 85-90% of last years team they had over $60,000,000 and a full draft to improve the team.
As you said, you can’t fix everything in one year. But you watched Thursdays game. Who did you see in that field that was an improvement over last years team? Who, out of everyone they acquired with all that cap space and that draft made a positive contribution and made the team look better than last year?

Let’s agree they can’t fix everything in one year, and now let’s see what they did fix, with all of those resources.

They didn't fix ANY of it. They are worse on the offensive and defensive line.

And right now, yes, Maye, Polk and Baker are wastes, two don't play, and the other one runs routes to nowhere before the QB is on his ass in .3 seconds. You're wasting an entire year of their contracts.

And yes Robinson is a waste. He's demonstrated he can't play at the NFL level.

There is an answer. It's Gibson. They went from no 3rd down backs to one 3rd down back. That's the only place on the field, where they demonstrably improved in the offseason. You could argue Brissett protects the ball better than Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe, so that's technically better.

That, however, is the list.

Just for comparison, the Jets fixed the entire left side of their offensive line with 2 free agents, costing $18 million over 2 years.

Had the Patriots done that, and only that, they'd be at worst 2-1 right now, and still 35-40 million under the cap.

Funny how the biggest Bill cheerleaders are now the biggest team cynics. Lol
Do you ever bring anything to the table other than making fun of Bill?

Which part don't you agree with @archstanton543 ?

- The fact that the Jets fixed the left side of their offensive line? (they did)
- The fact that it only cost them $18 million over 2 years? (it did)
- The fact that the Patriots would be 2-1 at worst had they done that? (they obviously would be)
- The fact that they'd be 35-40 million under the cap? (they would be)

Whatever happened to facts over feefees?

For 60 million and a draft. And I will point out Gibson hasn’t exactly been a 3rd down back much. He has 1 rush and 2 reception in 3 games on 3rd down. 3 touches in 3 games.
He’s really just a back up RB.

All of it.

All of it.
This is such a telling post. Faced with literal facts that hurt your feelings you deny the facts.
Why should anyone think your posts have any degree of integrity behind them?

These young guys running the franchise are going to make decisions that prove they're not young and impetuous.
Which means, they'll make conventional & slow moves to gain the approval of the old guard (including their owner) and the massive ghost floating over Foxboro named BB.
They'll be maddeningly slow to move OL players into positions that would work best.
They'll stick with Brissett longer than sensible while losing.
They'll coddle the players because they believe in the Millennial Mindset - causing our D to play undisciplined like @Jets.
It's going to be a rough year.
