Sure but that doesn't change the fact he has been our best OL (most well rounded)
I still want to get him on the bench and get Sow, Strange, and/or Onwenwu playing guard.

here is how I assign blame for this mess

BB. 50%
Elliott Wolf. 35%
AVP 5%
Scott Peters2%
Players 8%

From 2023 to 2024 the JETS rebuilt their OL. I thought they looked good Thursday. From 2023 to 2024 Wolf rebuilt our OL. How did they look Thursday?

BB left the Pats with the most cap space in the NFL, the 3rd pick in the draft, and a good/great defense. That is an ideal position for a rebuild. If Wolf and company can't use high draft picks and the most FA money in the NFL to turn this team around in 2 or 3 years, it is a story of immense failure. That has nothing to do with BB.

Folks seem to assume that Wallace is already an NFL quality starter at RT. I would not be surprised at all to see Onwenu starting at RT in a month. Of course, I hope that Wallace is the starter now and for the foreseeable future.
==========
And if Onwenu is back at RT in a month, I would expect Jordan and Sow to be our guards. I don't know who plays RG and who plays LG.

My only caveat is that Maye needs to be at least a solid starter.

Otherwise, it will take until we get a QB to turn this team around. We will have over $250M of cap room in 2025 and 2026, and we will also be able to defer compensation for some of the incoming players.

Personally, the cap situation is so good that I would make sure that we had a solid backup QB, better than Brissett, signed to a 2-3 year contract.

If this is being called rebuilding our OL, I don’t know what to think. Plugging a square peg in a circular hole…next thing they’ll do is put Strange in at RT when he gets back rather than LT or C…

You don't know what to think because there is no plan. Okorafor is a LT then he isn't. Wallace is a LT then he isn't. Onwenu is the RT, then he isn't, then he is again. You are confused because Wolf is confused.

Completely fair, but I guess I do not understand why everyone wants him on the bench or off the team. He may not be the one we wanted to succeed but he turned out to be that guy so why would we not build upon that. Dude is only 26, so he is still young.

Why do you want him on the bench?? I am just trying to understand.

Onwenu reportedly showed up at camp way overweight and out of shape. No-one has any idea how he passed the conditioning run. Some people said he put on 80 pounds which is probably an exaggeration but still he showed no commitment. He has always had a weight problem dating back to college. He still does not move well at RT. Jordan is better on the OL because Jordan is a professional.

I remember his 3 year contract is really a 2 year contract. If true next year is his last.

Sow, Strange, and Onwenwu are better

Jordan's been good, but is he better than Sow?

Probably not, but we also have yet to see Sow play NFL LG…. And Jordan has Definitely out-performed Robinson this season so far; if/when Sow returns, Jordan should be our top Interior backup, not Robinson and certainly not Leverett, who sucks.

Sow at RG and Jordan at LG is likely best as of now, unless we are ready to have ONwenu play RG.

BTW, it is you more than anyone else who has pushing for Sow to start at LG, which you say is his natural position.

Yes it was I; it makes more sense, from a continuity standpoint however, that if Jordan & a healthy Sow are deemed our top OGs at a certain point, that Jordan remain at LG & Sow return to his rookie position of RG… for now.

He also traded away Shaq Mason for nothing
He drafted and released Isaiah Wynn
Drafted Cole Strange instead of first team all pro CB Trent McDuffie (who everyone said should be picked by Pats)
Left the cupboard completely bare at WR, OL, RB (other than Stevenson), QB
Nice of him to leave the # 3 overall draft pick which means they were one of the worst teams in the league under his GM and coaching
The cap space simply means under his leadership the team had no good players on offense to re sign or extend
He has whiffed on so many draft picks the 5 years, I can not even fit the list in here
Completely destroyed his 1st round QB draft pick Mac Jones, setting the team back at least 5 years

BB left a completely f'ed up worst in the league roster with no QB and no offensive leaders.

Right, thank you Bill for all you did with this roster and putting the team in a position for multiple years with top 5 draft picks and a painfully anemic offense

If healthy Cole Strange would be our best OLman. And you hate the pick.

Coaches get fired because they screw up. In this case, BB did not leave the cupboard bare. 2023 was one of our best drafts in a long long time (much better than 2024). BB responsibly left the best cap situation in the league. BB also left a good/great defense. Yes, the new management has to fix the offense which is a QB, 2 WRs, and 2 OTs. A total of 5 players. The rest are #2s and #3s that can be easily found in FA, like RB2 and TE2, since we have the most cap space in the NFL.

You are raging mad about 5 key positions that can easily be filled in 2 years with the resources the Pats have, assuming the resources are used responsibly. What happened in 2019 or 2021 does not matter in 2024 and forward.

You can't see the forest for the trees.

For ****'s sake. This really is the bar, isn't it. One guy who absolutely can't play, and the other guy who can't play to a marginally lesser degree.

You're right on Sow. Everyone thinks he's the savior - I haven't seen anything to show me he'd be any better - although technically I don't think he could be any worse.

Onwenu is not quick enough for Tackle. Still too heavy, so he should go back to RG.
In a vacuum, Sow should replace Robinson at RG, because Sow was replaced from RT last year, but played 13 at RG.
Wallace may not be ready at RT (certainly isn't at LT), but one domino would force a few to move.
I think they have to try Jacobs at LT (we know Lowe is a liability, but until he's healthy, see if Jacobs can be better)
Jordan LG & Andrews C are the only ones that deserve to stay where they are.
