He was close to being hurt on one of his sacks when the DL slammed him backwards to the turf. That was when I started to rethink the idea of getting him in there. If they had even a semblance of an OL it might be different, but they clearly don't right now.
That was on his run, he actually gained 3 yards.

But it's all a learning curve. He needs to learn how to get down and pick up 1 yard instead of trying for 2 extra yards.

the most memorable moment of the night was Rodgers stiff-arming Saleh when he went in for a hug and then staring him down. Seems like he said something too, and it didn't look pleasant (wish I could lip read). That was weird. That ship is gonna sink before the year is over.

Bill learned that the Boston sports media including Reiss and Holley is the absolute worst media in the nation.

Im not sure how many of you live outside of Massachusetts, but if you listen to local media elsewhere, there is a night and day difference between what you get in Boston and other cities.

In other cities, there's more balance and analysis. The knives are rarely out even when teams don't have success for many years.

When I tune into 98.5, it's obvious those people are going out of their way to put the coaches and personnel in the worst light possible in order to drive ratings. Maybe they appeal to a certain kind of person that lives in the region, but that just means that the rest of the country doesn't have those types of people (with the possible exception of New York City, but even then WFAN is 100x better than 98.5.)
Curious to hear what the Cleveland media sounded like during BB's tenure. I'm sure PHI talk radio would probably be just as... acrid.

Never knew about this (per Steve King):

AN ICY PERSONALITY: Following a loss to Pittsburgh that knocked the Browns out of those 1994 playoffs – their third defeat to the Steelers that season – an extremely frustrated Belichick returned to Browns Headquarters. He was already upset about the loss and the fact that by then, Cleveland fans were screaming that the team had hired the wrong Bill – they instead wanted Steelers head coach and former Browns linebacker and assistant coach Bill Cowher – but his temperament was made worse when he discovered that his car was caked in snow and ice. Lacking a scraper, or perhaps not wanting to unlock the car and get it, he angrily began cursing and pounding the ice with his fist to break it up. A security guard saw what was going on and offered Belichick the scraper from his car. Belichick pounded with the scraper so hard that he broke it. He then threw the scraper back to the security guard and, without saying thanks, got into his car and headed for home.

BEAR-LY TOLERABLE: The people in Boston – and nationally – poke fun at Belichick all the time now for how terse and irascible he is. Ha! Are you kidding me? He is a teddy bear compared to what he was in Cleveland. Why? Because after going through the Cleveland experience, Belichick was smart enough to know the media wasn’t going away and, for his own good, he needed help in that area.

I hate it when I know more than the GM's and OL coaches.
Our best shot going forward with the guys we have is this:
Jacobs - Sow - Andrews - Onwenu - Wallace
Wallace? I watched him all last night. I was disheartened

They allowed 7 sacks genius.

Learn the game.
Not all "no turnovers" are created equally. I could have no turnovers too if I threw 2 yard curl routes all game taking no chances whatsoever. "No turnovers" is fine but it can't be THE reason to call a journeyman backup QB above average.

Learn the game indeed.

Reasons for the loss:
AVP tried to become a passing offense when they can't. Didn't commit to the run enough early as your only hope.
Almost no adjustments during the game to prevent the slaughter of your QB.
Mayo & Cov are woefully not ready. You can't have "office hours" and nurture "mental health" and win in this league.
The lack of discipline on D was the worst I've seen since BB cut Milloy before game 1 in '03. That's a coaching problem.
Better do some serious soul searching with these extra days before SF.

Rodgers is a top 10 QB.

I see him getting better as the season plays along and the Jets reaching the playoffs.
Rodgers can be a top 10 QB and still be overrated. He was being called better than Brady for quite some time and I found that irksome.

Time will tell what the future brings.

Do you think the Jests have enough to beat KC in the playoffs?

Drake got sacked two times and only played 16 snaps... wtf are you talking about. Keep him on the bench, the only thing that could make this season worse is getting him hurt now.
You must have tuned in on the 4th quarter. Ask your self the same question. Stop the getting hurt BS.. becuase if Jacoby got hurt he'd be in. He's the backup. The only thing hurt is your eyes. With game planning around drakes ability and full week to prepare I like our chances even with the line.. unless u like 85 yards passing...

Cleveland hated Bill because he benched their favorite son Kosar.

It was obviously the right decision by Bill, but they never forgave him for it.

Testaverde went on to become a pretty good QB. He beat Parcells and the Patriots in the playoffs.

Heck, Testaverde had the Jets at 11-1 before Keyshawn could even cry, "That's my QB!"

Yeah, that was a rough body slam. He had a come to Jesus moment.

They need to get Sow back healthy asap, move Onwenu back inside to right guard and play either Demontry Jacobs or Zach Tom at right tackle. Improve the line if they can improve it, but at least fortify the interior by keeping Sow, Andrews and Onwenu in there. That will at least bolster the run game and keep inside pressure to a minimum.

If that happens, they should consider getting Maye some developmental reps after the 49ers game. But he looked every bit the confused rookie. He ruined a screen by not being patient and letting it develop. He was clearly nervous. Ease him in.

Learn the game.
How many times did Brissett get sacked.. by the way Bailey Jones says to tell you Wozzy at least I average 192 a game last season..

Last night was a disaster, but many Thursday night games are. Having the Thursday night game so early in the season is also a detriment to a team like the Patriots that has a whole new coaching staff, a new system, a lot of new players, and an o-line that hasn't found its footing. Last night was a major concern about how the rest of the season may go, but it could also be an abnormality.

One thing that points to it being a bit of an abnormality were all the missed and broken tackles by the Pats' defense. Towards the end of the broadcast, they said it was up to 14. That is extremely high especially for a defense that was pretty disciplined about tackling the first two weeks.

No point going into the individual players because last night was an absolute dumpster fire. Let's just hope it was a case of a young team with a new coaching staff that couldn't get prepared for a game on a really short week early in the season.

By the looks of it Drake Maye could eat peanuts off the top of Rodgers' head if they'd stay there

Your absolutely correct. I live in Boston born and raised. So I can attest to that. Although on holley not sure he's pretty close with Bill. He wrote a book about Bill and got his personal approval

How many times did Jacoby get sacked???.. ... a veteran QB that supposed to be showing Drake the way... how's that going?...
