Cryin' Jacoby

There is nothing wrong with people showing emotion. Good for Jacoby, he’s a good guy who appreciates what he’s earned.
So far as I know, which ain't far, Jacoby is indeed a "good guy." There is no correlation, however, between "showing emotion" and being a worthwhile, moral human being. Convicted defendants cry all the time when they are sentenced, for example, acting on emotion indeed drives much crime and ill-behavior, and there are certainly occasions where yielding to one's emotions is irresponsible. The Oprahfication of our culture has gone too far. Chins up, buttercups, fer crissake.

Dude, you know you're just a placeholder for the real future of this team. I mean, you "won" the starting job and you're getting paid millions. Good for you. But this isn't some validation for you as a player.

I wasn't a fan of the total media lockdown Belichick had on the team for two decades but c'mon with this stuff. The only time I want to hear that the QB cried is if he was carted off with a broken leg and even then I wouldn't like it.
I have to strongly disagree with this take.
It shows Brissett’s love for the game and how much it means to him.
Would you whether he said win or loss, plan or don’t play I don’t care as long as the checks cash?

If you don’t think Brady ever cried before, during or after a game I don’t know what to say.

Who cares.
I'm with you. I don't think we ought to care one way or the other. My opinion of Brisset is not deflected positively or negatively by the fact that he's a weeper. I do object to the notion that weepiness is an indication of virtue in any significant way.

This is what the NFL is like now.

I think people underestimate the role people like Brissett can play, you would much rather bring a rookie QB into a semi competent operation taking over from a veteran who it means something to and he's fighting for it rather than one that's just collecting his money and happily just tanking games until he loses his job.

These teams who just suck, tank, draft never get out of the cycle you can't underestimate how important actually trying and caring about winning is when developing a culture, just look at the Texans they if they tank they probably draft Bryce Young instead they win a meaningless week 17 game and CJ Stroud falls into their lap.

Have one of these teams who just deliberately lose games and have veteran backups who don't care ever won anything? I can't think of one.

Jacoby played pretty good, he had one bad ball to Hunter Henry that required him to play defense and another to Osborn that sailed way over his head. Beyond that he handled the pressure well, and make no mistake, there was plenty of pressure. He stepped up and made good throws knowing he was going to get hit, he made timely runs to convert on third downs and extend drives.

Like I said weeks ago, people here are confusing preseason with the regular season. Preseason is practice, it doesn't count. When games count, Brissett is not spectacular but he's very solid. They won that game yesterday because the offense was mostly penalty and error free, that's not what you would have seen with Maye... not yet.

The original poster and some others are knocking Jacoby because they thought Mac was good... they have no grasp on reality.

As somebody who grew up watching soccer and seeing players regularly cry after important games, I never understood the phobia of crying in our North American sports.

All it shows is how much the player cares. I always like seeing it in my teams. I would rather that than players who smile and laugh after losses.
Oh boy…SMH…Maybe a tear after losing the Super Bowl, 7th game of the World Series, 7 th game of the toughest playoffs , Lord Stanley… Soccer players fall down waaayyy too easily and cry about it? Imagine that.

I have some PTSD issues from my time in Iraq, I worked in a tent hospital and daily pulled patients off of helicopters some times living and sometimes unrecognizable due to a bombing. There were several times that I cried as a professional member of the military and on the battle field.

Still cry at times now despite years of therapy. I also understand that I am an incredibly emotional person and others can also be that way. I can't understand your stance but respect the fact that you feel that way about our current undefeated starting QB.
Thank you for your service.
