Mayo is a puppet

Fans: " The culture sucks with Belichick. He gives us no information , he buries players who don't kneel to him. His decision making is outdated and he has lost the locker room. He's the only ones making decisions and it's costing us! Look at all these other teams hiring young HCs out of left field giving them a shot."

:ats fire BB, Hire Mayo, reorganize team operations for more collaboration , Mayo over shares information and is transparent. Players begin responding positively to the new atmosphere::

Fans: " This guy sucks. He said Maye is is better but is still starting Brissett. He has no idea what he's doing. It's all Jonathan Kraft anyway. Remember when we had Belichick? Players wouldn't speak up and the media got NOTHIN!"

It's a sitcom around here, really.
Nothing has changed for me. I wanted Bill gone and I liked the Mayo hire from the start. And now his first ever game as HC puts the Pats in 1st for the first time in who knows how long.

As far as what Mayo says, how could anyone prefer the 20 years of the crap we just went through over a former Pats player turned HC, who also likes to talk to the fans and media? Mayo's a breath of fresh air.

Whoever is puppeteering him, they did a damn good job! Let’s hope they keep it going and their arms don’t get tired next week
I couldn't wait to come back here and read this thread.

Well there is no alternative but to give him a chance, but giving him a chance doesn’t (in my opinion) mean closing your eyes to everything he does for 2-3 years then evaluating. He should be evaluated as things occur.
So far so good.

For me player buy-in is above all else .. Joe wasn't given a chance either ...
the team brass evaluated the man ... sound familiar? Mayo deserves a chance.
What a great example. I was one of the Joe doubters. Not any more.

Joker would have liked this post, so I will like it for him.
I had a moment a while back where I went to an older thread by mistake. One of the first posts I read was one of Joker's responses to me. It put a smile on my face to think of him.

I know how much you love Bill and all, but ... damn boy. 6 Lombardis ? I agree he is a breath of fresh air, but this take is a tad over the top.

Mayo has gotta be in the coach of the year running now

#OverreactionMonday

He’s had almost 9 months and he hasn’t won a real game yet? That’s more than enough time. Vrabel would be 6-1, 5-2 by now.
Mayo is undefeated in his career as HC of the NEP.

This was us after the game...

I was talking about the pressers. Don't be so sensitive.

I agree after listening to the nattering nabobs of negativity on sportstalk telling me every day how bad this team would be, how bad the coaching would, how weak this team was etc. Yesterday was a breath of fresh air..
Then there was the "weak" rookie class we heard about daily, just checked the snapcounts.. those weak rookies played a lot of snaps.
One refreshing thing was that when Joey Slye was kicking FG's there was a much better chance this year of scoring.
