Nothing exciting about the offense but that may have been the most professional, mistake free game I’ve be seen from them years
How many penalties?

While not explosive, our offense did look like a professionally run team. Defense played very well. Secondary gets an A++ for tackling.

BB fanboyz in shambles right now
Felt like a typical BB game of the last 4 years though.

Play a backup QB, run the ball, play defense and win a low scoring game.

One dropped interception away from being a typical BB - Mac Jones game last year

OT- Bills win !!!! Arizona played amazing in the 1st half but they just unravelled in the second half !! wish Bills had lost

Besides Mondre, this the biggest suprise for me was the Defensive line

they were all over Burrow and on the run game

Keion white with 2.5 sacks, i mean, that is incredible. I thought OCs around the league would know who is Judon sucessor AND, if we exclude that one long-ish run from Moss, not one runner got over 4 yards per carry. A trully great win, and I hope Mayo gets a bit of patience from people.

However, I do think the Bengals were half-asleep this game. Higgins missed the game, Chase was on a contract dispute and barely practicing, plus they didnt really gave a crap about the pre-season

1st pick in the draft is gone, but that wasn't the reality. Too much defensive talent plus a little from the offense and they are out of that. Probably still a top 5 but nobody is worse than the Panthers, maybe even the Giants. They are TERRIBLE.

So, it’s basically the same team as last season, same personnel, same type of game, low scoring, slow tempo … the difference being that the team wasn’t saddled by Mac freakin’ Jones and instead of eeking out a loss, they came out on the winning end (largely because Mac wasn’t here to turn the ball over half a dozen times).

I’m going to feel rather bitter if Belichick was ****-canned without being given an opportunity to coach a full season without Mac Jones, and if the team that he built goes on to have success with a different QB.

And to be clear, a large part of that bitterness is rooted in the fact that Kraft unconditionally supported Jones and forced Belichick to go down with him. If BB died on the Jones’ hill by himself, fair play to oust him, but BB didn’t die on that hill; the owner put him in an impossible situation where BB was forced to ride out Jones at Kraft’s request, but in the process of appeasing the owner, hammered a nail in his own coffin. Yuck.

All my personal griping aside, congrats to the team for an impressive win. The same core guys who contributed today have been here for awhile; the team simply needed QB play that wasn’t atrocious in order to win.

Scary part is that I believe the offense can be way better with Maye.
Of course it can. They only scored 16 points. Maye was picked high for a reason. But I’m glad it was Jacoby taking those hits today rather than Maye. And for all of his limitations, Jacoby’s ability to hang in the pocket and not panic is exactly why he’s an upgrade over Mac on his own. Hopefully the line will continue to solidify and Maye will continue to improve behind the scenes, and we’ll get to see him soon.

Other than the penalty before the game even started, an incredibly smoother ST performance throughout the game compared to the last several years. Talk about improving just by showing Asschord the door.

Covington off to a great start. The old schemes will be credited, and it'll be an uphill battle for him to make his own name, but this was a great start.

The AVP offense looks like a pro scheme, something we haven't seen since Brady played QB. Can't wait to see this unit run by a talent like Maye, and when Polk replaces the absolute Jagness that is Osborne.

Props to Peters with the o-line, those big guys made a lot of people eat some crow. Just heaps of crow all around, holy crap, never seen so much crow. Just dead crows attracting live crows which then become dead crows and it's all a cycle and the biggest crow buffet ever.

If Mayo is the glue that holds these coaches together and keeps the players believing, then I'm good with that.

Brissett did just enough while riding the back of Stevenson to put this one away. Hopefully this gains some confidence and the offense can open it up a bit going forward. Not gonna win many with that type of offensive performance. Game shouldve been a blow out with the monster defensive performance we just saw. Bengals clearly thought they were gonna come in and walk away with an easy win. Whoops. Jokes on you biiiitches.

Brissett may not have made great passes but he was incredibly gritty back there, holding the ball while getting walloped, moving around the pocket, giving the team a chance, even running it when he needed to.

This is what competent QBing looks like. And his mere presence improves this team a lot.

Game ball to the kicker. 4 for 4
What happened to that highly drafted guy that Bill picked??

Great win, congratulations to coach Mayo. That was an incredibly well coached team we saw out there. No turnovers, no killer penalties, solid special teams. Super impressed at the job he did, youve got to feel pretty good about the future of the team seeing such a clean game like that.

That said, team obviously has its limitations and we definitely benefited from your typical rusty bengals week 1 team. Jacoby put in a valiant effort, but we’ll obviously need more out the passing game at some point. If you see enough out the OL who was decent today i think if we can steal another one in the next 3, you are 2-2 with hopefully maye ready to step in. That would be legitimately exciting
