Polk instead Kingsley Suamataia?

That’s not what I asked.

For the fourth time - what multiple under-30-year-old left tackles existed in free agency that they could’ve signed who were available for comparable money and were markedly better than Lowe and Okorafor, as you’ve claimed?
Note to my beloved Wozzy. Check your map: this may not be the hill upon which you want to die. I too think the team has done a crap job re the o-line, but our only secure hope rests in the draft. I DO think they could have done more this year in the draft re the o-line, but the free-agency/trade approach was never gonna work. It rarely does. A team trading away or failing to sign a top OT would be like me trading away my Danelectro Baritone: it's not gonna happen.

Watching those two games just made my head hurt...two misses by the Pats (AJ Brown and Nakobi Dean) playing like all-pros.

That kind of sucked. I wanted both and they were sitting there...

That said, you know which fanbase should be absolutely ripped about the draft? Bufffalo's They handed Worthy to an Andy Reid offense with Patrick Mahomes...that kid will absolutely light it up over there. Why Buffalo ever made that trade, I'll never understand. It was as bad as Baltimore handing them Orlando Brown after their OL crapped the bed. It's like the other contenders are fanning a dynasty, I tell ya!

Who from tonights game were we stupid for not signing or drafting?
Jordan Love would have been ready at the perfect time after a year behind Cam and two years behind Mac

Well, we wouldn't cherrypick if they last 4-5 drafts were good.
NFL average is 3 starters per draft. Go back and look at our last 4 drafts prior to '24.

Christian Gonzalez
Keion White
Sidy Sow
Demario Douglas
Marcus Jones
Christian Barmore
Rham Stevenson
Mike Onwenu
Kyle Dugger
Anfernee Jennings

Jack Jones is starter material with a 10c brain. The kind of guy Patriot fans say we should always take a chance on. We may have picked another of these guys up this year in the 4th.

Jury is still out on the following: Cole Strange, Marte Mapu, Jake Andrews, Kayshon Boutte

I would not say the jury is still out on Tyquan Thornton and Josh Uche. It's pretty clear they will never be starters.

If 1 of Strange, Mapu, Jake Andrews or Boutte work out, it will mean the Patriots are doing as well as most NFL teams.

Mind you, we're talking about a draft with the 3rd pick in every round last year, so the expectations are much much higher, since the Patriots haven't had this luxury since 1992.

Interior pass rush has become more and more of a threat the last few years in the NFL. It tells you why really good guards have started getting paid as well as tackles.

That was always Brady's kryptonite. Against edge pressure he was masterful at finding a little space in the pocket and of course he was also masterful at finding the open guy when he was blitzed and throwing it away as a last resort.

As someone commented, if it had been Mac Jones behind either of those two lines we would have seen multiple sacks and pressures.

Also worth noting the Ravens got called for illegal formation four times in an actual game - Okorafor doesn't look quite so dumb now for his three penalties in a preseason game. Same ref.

I’m holding out hope for Wallace and Demontrey Jacobs.

We’ve seen plenty from Okorafor and Lowe… they’re poor athletes… trash.
When we start referring to players as trash who haven’t done anything wrong, I’d say that’s crossing a line. You’re not the first to do it, but not good.

Would you rather have a worn down engine you know works when healthy or a brand new shiny one that doesn’t work at all?

I didn’t want Smith, but there were multiple under 30 options better than Okorafor and Lowe.

You seem to have contracted a (hopefully brief) case of Andyitis. Please stop attempting to take me to task for an argument I did not make,

That's my wife's job.

We’re upset about some T’s terrible name we can’t pronounce who looked pretty bad opening night?

And the NFL really needs to crack down on the jumping T’s before the snap. Need harsher penalties for multiple offenses.

I didn't think they played great. Mahomes and Jackson were great, moving around, avoiding pressure, running, or throwing on the run.

If it had been someone like 2023 Mac Jones back there, both of those OLs would have looked bad.
Oh give me a break, that was the team that led the entire NFL in sacks last year... they weren't playing the Giants.

Sumiata was not good in that game and you still want him just because he's starting over the other trash they had? We will see if he gets better but right now he's bad.
One sack allowed against the #1 ranked team in the NFL in sacks last year for a rookie left tackle isn't good?

Let me guess, you're one of these rubes who've been telling us all offseason Okorafor and Lowe weren't that bad.

Patriots fans have officially lost the plot.

I've already discussed this ad nauseam. I'll provide the names, some nitwit will say these options weren't very good, I'll provide their resumes... and the end result will be "because I said so" as a final retort.

Okorafor sucked in Pittsburgh, Lowe has sucked his entire career... anything would be better. Any attempt to improve that didn't involve signing and relying on bad players.

The bottom line is we have a bunch of new regime apologists now who will rubber stamp any horrible move they make because they're not the old mean guy... and that's enough.

I was calling their level of play trash, not them as people... give me a break with the faux indignation.

I don't know who Andy is, so this slight is meaningless.

Part of 'we' seems perpetually upset and determined to beat the holiday rush to the whining.

The amount of jumpig tackles are getting away with has become insane, surprised there's not more discussion about it. The league is obsessed with outside guys lining up a few inches deep but jumping a full second early is okay???

I think that's what he was saying too. You don't have to have huge expectations but calling his play trash before he's even played one snap here is pretty harsh.
