So, how you feeling about our draft class?

That would've been better as well. It's just that Beebe is going to be a perennial All-Pro
If Wallace does become the answer at RT, then if we address LT and Center (which are two non-negotiable NEEDS), we also need to address RB in the 2025 Draft as well. FA next year will have some young defensive players and possibly one still young WR that could reinforce what we drafted this year. They will hopefully give Maye a solid OL (including backups), Offensive Backfield, and WR Corps. Getting at least one young and promising TE would be a bonus (even if Bell becomes a legit weapon just as a receiver and runner).

So now we can judge a draft class after 1 camp and preseason?

tbh, the only one i care about is dm

I think the First Five is going contribute don't sleep on Javon Baker he'll be alright. This class will be better than any prior BB Draft as a whole.
Not better than "any" but better than Bill's recent drafts, that's for sure.

It's too early, of course, and the success or failure of that first pick - Maye - kinda trumps the importance of all the other choices combined. I suspect we'll get the usual two or three useful players. I just hope one of them is Drake Maye.

Baker will be fine. I have big expect for him. You said it best. This draft class looks to be excellent. I expect to see Maye day by end of September.
That kid is anything but fine. He is a mental ****ing midget that will be broke and out of the league in three years without some major intervention.

He has disaster waiting to happen written all over him.

Let's not put him in the Hernandez category just yet. He's young, let him grow and learn how to be a pro.

In hindsight, if I had to do it all over again?

1. QB Drake Maye
2. LT Patrick Paul or trade down and take LT Patrick Paul
They should've traded with the ATL instead of the LAC for #34. It is Unconscionable that they didn't. They still could've Easily taken Paul - or BYU LT Kingsley Suamataia - at #43.

3. G Cooper Beebe
4. WR Devontez Walker or RB Jaylen Wright
4. WR Javon Baker

I really liked Jaylen Wright - or Clemson's Will Shipley - in the 4th round; and if UNC WR (and Drake Maye go-to target) Devontez Walker becomes productive while Javon Baker becomes a Bust, then the ENTIRE Patsies' FO needs to be Fired.

This is optimistic at this point.

But it's an apples to oranges discussion anyway since you're picking 3rd in every round as opposed to 15 or later.

As a PSU fan, the Caeden Wallace pick has always been a mystery. Dont know what we see in him. Polk is a 2nd WR picked very very early. Javon Baker, ummm, Im hoping he's not the next Jack Jones around here... but to post that craziness online signals trouble trouble.

Is the draft better than Christian Gonzalez, Demario Douglas, Sidy Sow and Keion White? I bet it won't be.

It's mindboggling for anyone to say the things he said in that video. But then to post them online? My lord. Very Jack-yJonesy.

To be fair the question in the title is how you feel about it for now, not what is your final evaluation and judgement.

I feel good about Maye and Polk. I feel Wallace could be a passable RT.

I don't have a great feeling on Baker. Seems the kinda guy who'd start going "free me" if doesn't crack the starting lineup in a year or 2. And if he balls out I get the feeling success would get to his head pretty easily, leading to a host of other issues.

Again that's just the feeling at this point. All subject to change as these kids' pro careers unfold.

Not Aaron but definitely in the Henry Ruggs category. Growing won't be his problem, he comes across as very low IQ. Needless to say not a fan of this kid.

I can respect your opinion. It's more immaturity than anything. This generation of young people this is pretty rampart thier whole lives are put on SM. I don't know what he was trying to prove. However the organization was made aware of it and it was handled. I want him to make it as a pro. He's talented.

If things really get awry with baker than the team will likely get rid of him. They won't just give up on a 4th round pick just off immaturity. Let's give him a chance to mature and grow into being a NFL pro.

He may be inactive for most of the year. That's fine. As with many others, we have time to let him learn on the job.

I don't watch college football at all so the first time I see players are in NYFL uniforms. It's still a little early to judge all of the players from the last two years, especially players who miss time with injuries.

What I know for sure is that this team didn't draft well for a few years and doesn't have many top players.

They didn't draft badly.

Look around the NFL and you'll see the average is 3 starters per draft.

2020: Onwenu, Dugger, Anfernee + Uche who is just a backup (this is the draft where they lost a 2nd for Mo Sanu)
2021: Barmore, Rhamondre (a failed draft because of a failed QB in Mac, which happens to a lot of teams...)
2022: Marcus Jones (Cole Strange is injured, Jack Jones was a headcase, Tyquan it's now or never). A failed draft for now, but not if Tyquan and Strange pan out.
2023: Gonzalez, Keion White, Sidy Sow, Demario Douglas (Jake Andrews and Marte Mapu could still pan out and become future starters). This draft was a success.

3 average drafts and 1 above average.

They drafted well...on defense. On offense it's been a trainwreck. Which is why BB isn't here anymore.

Drafting well is drafting well.

If your defense is old and slow as in 2020, you need to revamp the entire D.

They did.

It's called a rebuild.

Mac Jones was so bad he set the offense back but with marginally competent QBing the offense is much better than people believe.
