When Do We Know Who We Got On Waiver Claims?

Okorafor would be a mild surprise, but would certainly send a message: Just because you're all we've got, doesn't mean you have an infinite leash.
He was one of their big free agent splashes. I don't think they'll cut him.

Never heard of any of those guys. Wonder who they replace
Demontrey Jacobs was an undrafted FA in 2023 by the Broncos, out of South Florida. He's 6'6", 315lbs.
.
Zachary Thomas is a 6th rd pick in 2022 by the Rams, out of San Diego State. he's 6'5", 300 lbs.

EDIT: Thomas drafted by Bears and waived, then signed to PS. The Rams signed him off the PS of the Bears. He's appeared in 3 games over two seasons.

I imagine that they bring at least 2 tackles onto the practice squad

This was only talk but Patriots Unfiltered discussed an interesting scenario that Okorofor was maybe deliberately lining up incorrectly to get himself released......as he may not be happy at being moved from LT to RT to LT etc...........again, it was only a discussion point however unlikely it maybe !

He doesn't have a great reputation, having been deemed a malcontent with the Steelers.

Yikes. Can't see any of these people being better than what we already have. The only person who I've seen who is worth picking up is Geron Christian. The only problem is that Washington, who is ahead of us on the claims order, is also hunting for OL pickups.
You think Lowe, Okorafor and now Geron Christian are good or "better than," I've determined this is a "you" problem.

Geron Christian isn't subject to waiver claims. As a vet with 4+ years accrued he automatically became a FA when he was released

Yeah, someone else pointed that out earlier. He still hasn’t signed with anyone yet. Pretty surprised by that. Maybe he’s weighing multiple options?

Geron Christian has been in the league six seasons.

He has started a total of 25 games on bad offensive lines... about 4 per season.

Teams desperate for good offensive linemen start good offensive linemen... they don't keep them on the bench.

The guy's a jag, like Okorafor and Lowe are jags... we don't need anymore jags, we're all stocked up.

Oh boy let the circus begin.

Here's my scraping the bottom of the barrel list of free agent linemen released yesterday the Pats should bring in for a look. No, I'm not saying they're great or even good, but when you've blundered the offseason at OL so badly... this is what you're reduced to.

I tried to limit my search to teams with good/great O-Lines, with a knack for finding talented linemen:

Josh Ball OT Cowboys
Jake Witt OT Colts
Sebastian Gutierrez OT 49ers
Henry Byrd OT Vikings
Max Scharping OT Eagles
Josiah Ezirim OT Saints
Garret Greenfield OT Seahawks

Jason Poe OG/C Eagles
Duke Clemens C Lions
Lorenzo Thompson OG Browns
Jarrett Kingston OG 49ers
Dakoda Shepley OG Cowboys
Donovan Jennings OG Packers

No Demontrey Jacobs or Zach Thomas...?

They weren't on my radar either, or likely anyone else's except for Wolfie's...

...Jake was supposed to be the backup center, and Leverett the emergency #3 center. Apparently Leverett was playing better than Jordan in practice,
He must have, because he certainly didn't play better than him during the actual games.

In any case, any or all of these three could be upgraded. Jordan may be the one that is most important to us at the moment if Sow is injured. He is ready to go at OG.
Agree.

As far as backup center, a 3rd stringer who was waived or cut could easily match what we saw on Sunday.

The only reason that Leverett Saltonstall is on the 53 is that Wolfie is too embarrassed to cut his incompetent ass. Same with IRing lowWatts instead of cutting him...
