Is the Okorafor situation similar to that of Brown last year? Of course, I am NOT comparing the qualities of the players.
======================================
OK, Okorafor isn't very good. But isn't he better than Lowe or Jacobs?

Isn't this a coaching issue, getting someone to be motivated, and to line up where he is supposed to?

We SHOULD be better off with Okorafor starting at LT and the not-ready Wallace starting at RT, with either Lowe or Jacobs as the swing OT.
=========
If Okorafor is only a RT then so be it. If Wallace is ready before the trade deadline, trade Okorafor for a box of Cheerios and let Wallace start at RT.
=========
Let the new coaching staff coach them up with Lowe, Wallace and Jacobs as our tackles. Obviously, that will be a top priority next year, along with EDGE.

There was some weird things in Pitt going on but for now I just want to give him the benefit of the doubt that he's struggling on the left and not something else.

I probably missed the memo about Chuks not wanting to play LT. But I did get this one…

After being released by the Pittsburgh Steelers in February, it took just over two weeks for tackle Chukwuma Okorafor to sign a one-year deal with the New England Patriots.

His quick decision was based off of opportunity, as the Patriots represented a chance for him to see the field immediately upon arrival.

That opportunity, however, comes with a positional switch from right to left tackle.

“I’ve been in the NFL for a while now. If I knew I couldn’t do it, I wouldn’t have chosen to do it,” Okorafor said after OTA’s on Monday. “It will take time, but I know who I am and what I can do.”

I thought his whiny "it's the refs: nuthin' I can do" reaction to the penalties promised nothing but trouble. The sooner a replacement is found, the better. It'll likely take a while, but I would be looking for something better starting now.

If youre talking about the postgame presser, that was Onwenu who said that. Okorafor had a more contrite response today according to Phil Perry.

There are going to be a lot of priorities next year

Yep. Apologies to all. Got my O's mixed up.

Cousins, You still have a chance to get better. D.J Humphries an all pro caliber LT is still available recovering nicely from an ACL. Could be ready next month. He's only 30. He was well received as a leader on the Cardinals and they cut him after injury for CAP reasons. I will agree with most posters that all of our OT's are third stringers on most Teams (not including Big Mike.

The just name Jacoby as starter and must have upped his insurance. This will be awful to watch.

Now go out and take another stab at Ayuk who has to be so pissed right now the Pats are looking better. All those "I can't wait until 2027" crowd are not Fans of be competitive now. Use Houston as a model......not GreenBay Eliot. They turned around there Team pretty quick.

In my humble and sure to be criticized position; Take the 30 Year old Humpries now. You can pay him. Let him rehab another month or so. Draft an OT in 2025. Put the best of the cannon foder OT's on the field until Humpries recovers......one glaring hole can be filled and ready by the end of this season.

Now a question or should we start a thread? Maye looks.....ok, but if you could do it all over again would you take the Vikings offer of three first Rounders and have Drafted perhaps Penix or Nix and picked up two blue chippers who can play right now....perhaps including a stud LT. ?
I am still of that religion.

Thoughts? Threats?...you are all feisty today. I am going down for breakfast.

So Ayuk and Humpries as at the least roster setters.

I'm all for signing anyone that can play LT.

I think with the info we have today I'm not Trading Maye for any number of picks.

All I was saying about Chuckwarma is let's not call him a malcontent just because he's not playing well at LT. Especially based on unsubstantiated rumors. I'm not sure if he can play on the left side and he might not even be starting caliber on the right but I don't think he's quitting on us of making any kind of fuss so I'll keep rooting for him to figure things out.

He signed a one-year deal for a base salary of $4M. That should tell you all you need to know about what the rest of the league thinks of him.

What is your point?

Do you think that the rest of league would spend $4M for Anderson, Love or Jacobs?

Okorafor is a backup quality player, paid as a backup. He will start because backups start when you have no one better.

I don't think he was signed to be a backup. He started 55 games at tackle over the past three years. Add in the fact that the Patriots took only one tackle in the draft indicates that they likely thought he would be a starter.

Wozzy says he’s bad. That’s why Pittsburgh dropped him like a bad mushroom.

I was willing to give the player the benefit of the doubt.

But the evidence is coming in: Wozzy is right.

Not looking good for Jacoby’s health.
