I wouldn’t mind paying him whatever for a year or 2, we have the space. Depends what theyd be looking at in terms of trade compensation though, hes 36 so id imagine either way we should be looking to use a high pick next year on OT. But im guessing we might run into the same issue with aiyuk and whether hed actually want to come here

I think Bertrand is right. Mayo is against AVP and Wolf.

It’s pretty clear to me that Mayo wants to play Maye but AVP and Wolf want to start Brissett. To me it doesn’t seem that Mayo has the power to decide who is starting. It’s AVP.

To me it’s the first sign of a disfunctional organisation.

I am fine with Wolf having the final say on the 53 but Mayo should have final say on who plays. Not AVP, not Wolf.

Mayo is AVPs boss. He works under Mayo like all the other coaches do. Mayo gave AVP full autonomy with the offense.

Mayo runs the show as HC controls the roster on who plays where! Mayo doesn't report to wolf they work collectively and both report to ownership.

AVP gives his input like all coaches do. However the final decisions are Made by Mayo and Wolf!

I think it will be Brissett because of another comment he made along the lines of - "What's best for the team today may not be what's best for the team in a few weeks".

I get what you mean, but the other side of things is that he needs to meet with the team to explain why he's starting the worse quarterback. Imagine you are one of the veterans on the defense who was here last year playing your ass off and still losing nonstop because the QBs were playing like dogshit. Now they have a new guy who looks really good - but coach is still keeping him on the bench anyway. You'd probably feel a bit frustrated.
