Drake Maye's best plays from the finale (view on YouTube):

Full Game Highlights (view on YouTube):

I think Bertrand is right. Mayo is against AVP and Wolf.

It’s pretty clear to me that Mayo wants to play Maye but AVP and Wolf want to start Brissett. To me it doesn’t seem that Mayo has the power to decide who is starting. It’s AVP.

To me it’s the first sign of a disfunctional organisation.

I am fine with Wolf having the final say on the 53 but Mayo should have final say on who plays. Not AVP, not Wolf.

There is an elephant in the room here that's been surprisingly unaddressed until now, and it's the distribution of power in the new regime. The Krafts understandably didn't want to give any new guy the same level of power that BB had.

All of it is perfectly understandable at this point given Mayo's experience, but the hope has to be that he--or someone other than the owner's son-- grows quickly into the guy where the buck stops in regards to football ops.

I think that's all a reach and it's a collaborative effort. Mayo has final say but it's his first year as a HC and he recruited all these people for their experience and insight and he should take them into consideration

Meh. Media stirring up ****.

I agree it's a reach for now and the collaborative seems to working well together now. I'm not sure Mayo has final say though I think that's Wolf.

What concerns me more than who has final say is that it seems like we almost have no HC it's more a figurehead as Wolf seems to go straight to AVP and Mayo runs the D. Mayo himself has even said that he doesn't know the techniques required for a QB and that he won't get in AVPs way on that sort of thing.

NFL network reporting 49ers and LT Williams aren’t close to a contract restructure. If I’m Wolfe I’d be calling, long shot but I’d least try.

I suspect that his name has been mentioned in other discussions with SF.

I'd pick up the phone with zero optimism. The dude is what, 36? I get he's a HoFer, but he's 100% on the back 9 of his career. More like he's on the 17th tee. 2 or 3 year deal seems like too much. I mean, he's not the first GOAT to wanna get paid in his late 30s. I dunno. I'd definitely kick the tires.

He's light years better than what they have for LT. They could spend some of their cheese protecting Maye's blind side.
