So far I've still only been wrong on Zappe. The other moves I predicted were cuts for Kayshon Boutte, Atonio Mafi, Marcellas Dial, Michael Jordan and Joe Giles-Harris, plus Takitaki going to PUP list and Mapu & Barmore going on IR. However, that plus the Zappe cut would put them at 49 players, so I am sure at least a couple of the above won't happen.

Yeah I don’t see them cutting Boutte. He’d get claimed. Not a superstar by any means but toolsy enough to keep around barring a surprise opportunity to claim a better WR comes up.

I’d cut Dial personally. Dude got roasted all pre-season.

You make a corresponding cut after you get awarded a claim no need to do it early

Maybe they are trying to trade someone better who might have more value, but they think isn't much better than what they have. Like Thorton or some such,

They can make a waiver claim regardless of where they're at roster wise.. They would just have to release a player the next day if they were at 53, as you know.

now we are looking for a conditional 7th or swapping 7th round picks. We still have 32 minutes.

I have a feeling there will be regret over taking Slye over Ryland. This is a developing team. Why not give a young kicker time to develop? Vinatieri sucked his first year. We know Slye is inconsistent. Known quantity at this point. And if you were going to cut Ryland, why not give him more shots in the preseason to show what he's got to other teams? That's one thing Belichick always did right.

Why cut Kevin Harris? He looked solid behind a miserable offensive line.

And I see our long tradition of cutting supposedly relevant free agent signings continues into the new era with the release of Armon Watts.

Yes, Harris looked good to posters.

Harris will likely be replaced by another veteran.

Watts, Like Okorafor, was a low budget signing to see if the Pats could coax more out of him.. They brought him in to see if he could replace Guy.. Pharms and Hill outplayed him.. The Pats will hopefully add a DT to the PS who could play either of the DT positions in an emergency..

What is Slye's cap # vs Ryland? That could be a factor.
