Too bad, kid's got loads of talent but his body is failing him.
16 yards in his NFL career and Drafted many moons ago dude should just retire.

Possibly Froholdt was released too soon , ah well hindsight is a wonderful thing

The Pats had a good line that year and wanted to sneak him onto the practice squad, in hindsight they should have held onto him and cut someone else.

Did we give up on him too soon?
Those year five breakouts are tough. A rookie contract is only 4 years, so actually reaping the benefits would have required re-signing a player who really didn’t do much in the first four years. Usually the team and player agree to look elsewhere at that point.

Fair point

The problem with Froholdt was that he was injured here. He missed his entire first year on IR.

Then backed up for 8 games during the Cam Newton year. The OL was pretty good. Wynn, Thuney, Andrews, Mason, Onwenu.

They kept Eluemenor, Ferentz and Herron over him.

Given their huge trouble with the T position the previous season (injuries to Cannon and Wynn leading to Marshall Newhouse) it makes sense that they put a priority on keeping backups like Eluemenor and Herron.

But keeping Ferentz? Just because you needed a backup center? That one hurt. The decision seems to have been made because of Andrews's illness the previous year. Still, you kept Froholdt for 8 games into the season before releasing him.

He's been good for about a year and a half. Started his last 23 games.

He broke through in his 3rd season.

Wow he’s now a $20M a year corner? He’s very good but $20M is steep
