Yes. It is not good draft strategy to draft for need, especially need that is self inflicted. The best drafting teams are able to sustain depth through the draft and FA and don't find themselves with gaping holes in the roster that need to be plugged allowing them to often draft the BPA, which helps solidify self-sustaining roster depth.

This is largely true but you also have a budget for positions. You don't pay 2 guards top dollar, and if you've already paid one, you may decide to let a guy go to FA and draft another G.

In the case of Strange, they tried Onwenu at LG and it was a disaster. Onwenu ended up pushing out Mason. But this had nothing to do with the LG position.

If we're talking about Karras, I really don't see how anyone liked him at guard. He was frequently overwhelmed there and simply did not have the athleticism to come across on a trap block.

Wow! Does Anthony Richardson stink, kind of like he showed he would in college, great scouting, lol. What were NFL teams and especially the Colts thinking. They drafted a less accurate Joe Milton 4th overall. Mind boggling.

My gal's daughter went to U of Florida and would make us watch the games (when she could). I remember the announcers talking about his pro potential and thinking "what are they seeing?" It had to be potential cuz what he did on the field was not good. He'd make an unbelievable throw and then miss ten regular ones. But one thing different from Milton is he is an excellent runner. When he took off, hard to catch. probably thinking it's the next Lamar, but I dunno.

He missed some routine throws.
I saw a fantasy football guide predict him to be the top fantasy QB this year so I was paying close attention. He threw one really bad floater and the pick 6 he put the ball in a horrible position. He should of put that on the WRs outside shoulder throwing that inside on his left I believe it was hit him inside where the defender had position and leverage,
Horrible miscalculation. Milton definitely looks like he throws the ball a lot better.
Now I still would take Richardison with my last pick as a flier.

Apparently, he was incessantly dissed in the joint practice

“He’s just throwing to spots,” Bengals safety Geno Stone yelled at one point. “He doesn’t see his receivers.”
“Throw the ball, bro!” Bengals defensive tackle B.J. Hill yelled at Richardson, knowing Richardson had no one to throw to.

Bengals cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt quickly joined in on the trash talk.

“Is that all he does is run?” Taylor-Britt said, directing his barb toward a few Colts fans in the crowd
