We didn't think that the OL would all set and playing well together for Game 1 or even Game 4. We always though that it might take longer.
==================
SOME THOUGHTS ABOUT STAFF CONCLUSIONS - MY WAGS
1) Lowe is OK to be at least a backup LT.
2) Anderson can't cut it, maybe he can go to IR and get more time to get back to full strength.
3) Signing Okorafor was a mistake. He seems to be able to only play RT and ww need a LT (most of us guessed that months ago).
4) Robinson is a top run blocker and is probably ready to start at RG if needed, and probably backup at LG if there are injuries during a game.
5) Sow is at least OK at either G position.
6) Wallace is OK as a RT, probably not ready to start.
7) Leverett is OK as a game day backup at center
8) Jordan is an option if we choose to keep a 6th IOL.
9) We are signing bodies for the last pre-season game.
10) The waiver wire will be scoured for LT's and backup centers.
==========
MY HOPE
is that the team will evaluate where are at LT a couple of days after the final cut, and decide whether to sign an actual veteran LT. Is it worth $10M of 2024 cap money to sign a veteran for a year to better protect Maye and give him a better chance to learn? Of course it is. Obviously, whoever it is should have game day bonuses for much of his compensation.
