I've seen nothing from Parker that showed me he would have been a better route runner.. Parker was a mistake.. I can't count probably 3 to 4 games where he made an impact. Just terrible for a guy who was supposed to be a number 1 option.. baker is a rookie.. he will adapt, and learn how to play better leverage. Sideline routes are always advantages for the DB. The NFL got rid of the force out rule some time ago.
None of that matters if Baker keeps dropping balls.

The coaching staff had Baker practicing with the 3rd team on Saturday. The PatsFans posters did not have Baker playing with the third team, the coaching staff did. Why do you think the coaches put Baker on the third team?

He's a rookie! All rookies need fining. I honestly can't explain why he was on 3rd team. Just like why is he with the first team offense in camp but not during the games. Who knows. Who cares. Just..he will refine his game like all rookies need. We aren't talking about a 4 year veteran here.

Guys on the third team do not make the final 53. If Baker is going to refine his game, he better start elevating at practice and in preseason games.

I think they could indeed have saved a few million bucks by sticking with Zappe and foregoing the Brissett option, but the squawking from the "those cheap Krafts" fanboy element would have been prodigious, so they decided to waste a few million on some peace and quiet.

They aren't going to cut a fourth-round pick in his rookie season.
Probably not. But someone has to go. If you include Osbourne, Polk, and Douglas as locks, that leaves Reagor, Thornton, Baker, and Boutte. Do you cut Boutte and Reagor? or Thornton (who finally looks great)? or Baker? Do the Pats carry 6? When Bourne returns, who is released? Interesting days ahead.

Good stuff, KC7.

- We should trade Osborn, Bailey, and one of our DB's to the Vikings. I don't see what Osborn adds to this team and would prefer to see what Boutte can do. Bailey isn't making the team. The Vikes signed Gilmore today....they could certainly use one of Marco Wilson, Alex Austin, Marcella Dial, or Isaiah Bolden for depth. I think we could finagle a 4th out of that package.

- Our 3rd TE will need to be a blocker. So, I take the better blocker between Bell and Wilcox. This TE might need to line up as a 6th OL-man this year.

- Good call on Milton @TE. I thought Cam Newton should have gotten reps at TE in 2020-2021 myself. Milton reminds me of a smaller Cam...less of a runner...but much better arm....

- OT: This morning Reiss suggested Donovan Smith who is still available.....he started 12 games for the Chiefs last year at LT...I think it is worth a phone call...

I wouldn't expect much creativity out of this coaching staff when it comes to playing players out of position. AVP doesn't strike me as that type.

My wife is a Tampa fan, so I watched tons of D Smith and he is not good. He is not an upgrade to Lowe, who has improved. He still makes me nervous but Smith would be worse.

I didn't drop the balls. On the sideline pass Baker didn't even get his hands on the ball to drop. I didn't move Baker to the 3rd stringers at Saturday's practice. I am only guessing why Baker is out of favor with the coaches. If we observe what actually happens, the facts, we are haters?
One -if: nobody is more pissed at Baker than me he's my original pick. Yeah I lead the cheers after his selection. Him running with the Three's is getting a fire lit under his @ss he'll get better. I already had my peace with him I told him with tears in my eyes "Maye's our QB".

We all hope he soars, but not every pick makes it. I was shocked the coaches dropped him to third string, but maybe there have been issues at practice too. We would not know because the sports reporters would not see what the coaches see.

We know the coaches see more I think Baker can contribute from Day 1. The good in all this its Preseason and not the regular season.

For those that care and don’t like being surprised: Thornton has 0 catches through two preseason games.

I'm not sure Osbourne is a lock at this point. I like Reagor, but he might be someone they feel that they can cut at this point.

I getting that same vibes too regarding Osborn I don't think we have seen or heard enough.

Not his fault our so called #1 QB foot in mouth Mayo can't get a WR like Thornton the football. He's looked good in practice but has not played with Maye who I know won't miss him if he's open. Sucky OL and QB play have hindered Thornton up to this point. Yeah I wanted to give up too but the facts are the facts he has an excuse. IF they give up on Thornton and he goes to a Team with QB who can hit him in stride we are going to be sorry he's running with our so called Ones for a reason.

I think KJ is a roster lock. Reagor I feel will be on the roster. KB will start on PUP. So that may make Reagors roster spot safe for now. So I'm thinking.. pop, polk,Baker,KJ, Thornton, reagor...
