Boutte better not get suspended.

Aggregator accounts are the worst. Let’s translate.

Chiefs WR Rashee Rice will likely not be suspended until his criminal case has played out in court, which obviously will not happen prior to week 1. This is per Mike Florio at ProFootballTalk, part of NBC Sports, at this link:

Its all in having the best Law firms that money can buy.

KC has some good ones believe it or not.

What does this have to do with Boutte? And I thought his issues got resolved without charges?

The NFL could still punish Boutte, im saying if Rice gets off with a much more serious offense and Boutte should be punished I will be livid.

Thanks I didn't realize this was still possible.

With our two-tiered legal system, some guys can get off scot free even if they attempt to board a plane with a loaded gun or have an accident while drag racing on a crowded street and flee the scene.

But in the heat of the moment if he were to say the wrong thing, well the consequences are real and lasting. What an upside down world we live in.

Boutte’s biggest concern is actually making the 53 man roster. He’s one of the fringe guys who really needs to make an impression with preseason game opportunities. I think the final WR spot comes down to him or Reagor.

We’ll see what the NFL decides to do…

I never understand how the league picks and chooses when to "let the legal process play out". It seems to vary from incident to incident and player to player.

The NFL is arrogant. They thrive despite themselves. One day, the gets will shift elsewhere and so will the money. Owners will wonder out loud what happened. But….

Which means the NFL is joke. People need to realize that Goodell works for the owners and does what THEY want in aggregate. When you try to specify Goodell, you are letting the owners off the hook, which is the intended function of his role.

You clearly don’t know my position on the owners. And I am well aware that Goodell is their press secretary. He’s still a joke.

The big problem for Boutte is that he doesn’t play ST’s, and he’s at the back end of the receiving unit. It’s really hard to be the 5th or 6th WR on any team if you don’t contribute on ST’s. Douglas, Osborne, Bourne, Polk, and Baker are the first 5, Thornton and Boutte are fighting with Reagor for that last spot. They could decide to move Bourne and let Reagor go so they can go all in with young guys, otherwise Thornton, Boutte, or both will be gone.

I don't get excited about the possible suspension of a Practice Squad player.

OH MY GOD, SOMEONE ELSE GETS IT!

That's why he gets paid 40+ million! To take the heat off the owners!

When you consider the owners' VAST wealth, you start to understand just how small a fraction Goodell' salary is. It wouldn't be worth a single thought to fire him if they wanted to. WHICH MEANS THEY APPROVE OF EVERYTHING HE SAYS AND DOES.
