Come on Wolfie
Get it done.
He is been a good soldier
He is ridiculously underpaid
Would be lucky to get a 4th rounder in a trade which is nothing

The team needs him. Not signing him is a clear tanking indication

If that's all Judon wanted I'm sure the Pats would have already signed him.

He probably wants someting similar to what Danielle Hunter got. 2 years 49 mil, 48 guaranteed.

Why would we pay him when we have committed to losing?
Maybe he makes the difference between 3 and 4 wins, and he might cost us the overall #1 pick which is ours to lose.

The Pat's offense sounds like a dumpster fire.

Pay Judon and at least try to have a respectable defense.

Depends what wants, we have no idea of the numbers exchanged, I'd like to keep him if it's reasonable.

I’m struggling to believe that the Pats are suddenly being unreasonable with Judon given that they’ve managed to come to an agreement with basically everybody else.

Unless he can play o-tackle I’m fine with getting a pick for him. This team isn’t going anywhere until it can fix the o-line.

The handling of Judon has been downright disrespectful. He's their best player on D, yet all the other players get paid? Spare me their age compared to his, they are not more deserving than Judon. If they aren't going to pay him, trade him to a damn contender or a team that will pay him.

Wrong side of 30, coming off season-ending injury. Not the time to be asking for a payraise, and a significant one at that.

team getting rid of its long tenured coach, complete revamp of the front office, rookie head coach, team devoid of leadership...
seems like a pretty good time to ask for a raise, all things considered...

Accidental repost.

He's the one who wanted money moved from the back end of his contract. I know football players aren't rocket scientist but eventually you'll get to your last year and you won't be playing for much money. It sucks for you but, at the end of the day, you asked for it.

The calculus is easy on this one.

If Judon were in the team's long term plans, he'd be resigned already. Everyone else is.

The team plans to let Judon walk. They have determined that a year of his presence, leadership and talent is of greater value to a young and developing defense than his current trade value, which is probably in the 5th round pick range.

A guy's trade value is lower during camp than it is mid-season. If the team is sitting at 2 - 7 at the deadline, Judon is playing at his 2022 form, and another contender either loses an edge to injury or thinks it's one guy away, he could fetch a 3rd.

No point doing it now.

There's already a thread on this.

Judon is not "ridiculously underpaid". His salary this year is over $14 Million. Don't take my word for it - look at the cap numbers.
How much is salary and how much is signing bonus is just games they play for cap purposes. Here are the top 10 Patriots salaries for 2024:

Agree 100 percent if a team offers a third or a OT I think it happens sooner.
Bourne, I don’t think he takes another snap as a WR in a pats unii.
If Aiyuk goes to Pitt, the Patriots can get a third for Bourne and I think they take that and roll with the younger WRs,

It’s nothing Bourne done wrong, it’s a combination of his injury, the emergence of other players and being behind learning a new system on the field.

I want him to get paid too! At this point I don't think the situation is going to get resolved.. I'd hate to see him traded especially for something that doesn't help this season.

His salary this year is 6.9.

Elite edge rushers like bosa get 30-32

The pats will not be able to attract someone wirh his skillset for years

Mstt Judon is getting paid $6.5M salary and $1M game bonuses for a total of $7.5M. That is what he will take home. You can make believe that he will take home $14M.

So what you're saying is that Judon's signing bonus means nothing? Then why did he agree to play for a mere $1,000,000 "salary" in 2021?

Judon got paid $54,000,000 for 4 years. That's close to $14 Million per year. If his signing bonus wasn't in there, he would have made:
2021 - $1 Million
2022 - $7.6 Million
2023 - $7 Million
2024 - $6.5 Million

Why is he only complaining about his "salary" in 2024? He should have gone ballistic in 2021 when he was only making $1 Million.
