I liked Deon Cain coming out of college as a nice early-Day 3 prospect… A little surprised & disappointed that he hasn’t done anything in the league.

I'm not sure why that would help? It doesn't seem that complicated to me: Aiyuk wants X money. SF wants Y compensation. If there isn't a team offering both, what is a third team going to get out of the situation that would make it easier? Either someone pays, someone budges, or Aiyuk sits out.

Pittsburgh isn't willing to give up the players San Fran has asked for (reportedly Pickens and Freiermuth) so it's possible maybe they trade for another player and include him in the deal? I haven't read the article yet because I'm grabbing Tweets in the camp thread, but I'm thinking maybe that's what's being referred to.

I thought this kid would’ve made an excellent 3rd-down RB/Slot prospect for us. Dam shame.
