I get your message here. But you're ignoring a key variable... what if Option 2 declines to sign with us just like our multiple attempts at Option 1 have (Ridley, Aiyuk). You can't take that part for granted. Especially because you seem to be basing it on the idea that "the kids" will develop and make this a more attractive place to play despite the fact that NOT having better players around them is creating a tougher environment for them to develop in.

Have to evaluate players as they become available and decide to pursue or not. You can't control who becomes available or bank on someone down the line. You always have to pursue things (or not pursue) them as they happen.
Bad teams sign and trade for top players all the time. We are not suddenly the first franchise who can’t give our money away.
Tennessee certainly is in no better shape than us and they signed a ton of high level free agents this year.

Least talented offensive roster in the NFL, zero top end offensive players, worst OL in the league, least star power overall of any roster, nobody wants to player here, all but guaranteed another top 3 draft pick. Need I continue?
BB's legacy on Offense he's totally responsible but many were pissed when he got canned go figure.

I disagree, What you are suggesting is recipe to make the Patriots a perennial middle of the road team. Make the Patriots good enough so they can compete for a Wild Card, but consistently give them middle of the round draft picks that rarely produce star players.

I don't get the Patriots' love of Godchaux, but that doesn't mean they should have spent money to make this team a 8-9 win team.
More teams progress from 8-9 to contenders than for 3-4. It’s always been that way and always will be, except for in madden.

I suspect those reports are not very accurate and probably have more to do with several years during each transition that Bill went with unnamed coordinators.

Bottom line is Bill always had a smaller staff compared to his peers but it's not like he axed his staff post Brady just to line his own pockets so I don't even really think there is any point in debating the number of coaches but to me it just came off as criticism for the sake of it so I had to call it out and since no one is going to do the research its point is muted.
Wasn't He making $20Mill a year post Brady on a Rebuild that is still Rebuilding?? Apologist alert!

Brady, Gronk, Jules, Brown, Branch, Smith, Dillon, Blount, Faulk, White, and 6 SB rings are his offensive legacies just to name a few.

He was making 20 mil a year while winning some of the few of of his 6 rings so I fail to see your point other than being a hater.

I rest my case your honor.

If they can block they’ll be a lot better than that.

Pray for our young tackles… we need them a lot more than another “good” possession WR.
That if should be capitalized.

My biggest concern this year is not if Drake Maye will play. It's how well the line will play.

looking forward to Thursday so we can see where we stand on that front

Oh he has. I just tend to lean more on people who put thier names on reports with high credibility. People have to understand bill ran everything on the organization. For the better part of 19 seasons he was remarkable. No matter if you're a legendary coach or a former LB.. without a QB winning is impossible. I've said personally we could be the 2017 Jaguars.. a dominant defense and a decent offense predicated off the running game. That's what we can be under Brissett. On that staff number it wasn't even really a serious thing.. it was just a little fun back n forth That's all..

The Pats are in the first year of a rebuild. They are not perennial cellar dwellers. Most of the teams that are perennial 3-4 win teams are poorly run teams. They make stupid mistakes and have constant turnover with their coaching. The Pats aren't one of those teams, at least not yet.

But there are plenty of teams that are active in free agency and end up in the doom loop of being average.

Talk to me in two years. If the Pats are still cellar dwellers, then you have a point. But being bad for two seasons and getting your franchise QB and LT for the next 10-15 years because of it may bring the Pats back to perennial Super Bowl contenders again.

Your not wrong, so what's being forgotten is we are in a complete rebuild. Multiple QBs in 4 seasons.. we have one side of the ball that's elite. If we can be marginally better on offense this whole theory changes. We won 8 games in 2022.. the sky isn't falling.. we just need to be competitive this season and look watchable on offense things will come together.

Tom was a 6th rounder, Tyreek a 5th… draft position doesn’t mean sht after the draft. Nothing.
As I said before tell that to the teams who have to pay them. Rookie wage scales are a thing.

I'm sure I don't need to explain why odds are much better that you'll be able to pick a great player near the top of the draft than at the bottom of the draft. It matters.

Also a player who is selected late in the draft doesn't automatically mean he's gonna be great because Brady was a 6th round pick. I suspect that's where most of the Zappe (and Stidham before him) nonsense in the fanbase came from. Weird logic.

And let's not forget RK seems to know how to pick em Parcells - Carroll - BB - Mayo Hmmmmm.

Well said. It's easy to dump on them now.. we have to slow down and sit back and let them get this team back on track.. let's see what polk and baker are as players... let's see how the offense looks in comparison to the last few seasons.

Weve been in a complete rebuild for years.

If you think 2020-2023 defines his offensive legacy more than anything I listed then I rest my case and you are just a hater period end of debate. You are a clown and I'm done with it.
