If camp reports are true, I would prefer the Pats hold their pick and go forward with the young receivers. What this rumor tells me is that the Pats coaching staff may not think the young receivers are doing as well as has been reported. Just a thought

The pursuit of Aiyuk has been ongoing, and has been part of their effort to bring in a “ #1”WR all offseason, I don’t think it has anything to do with how Douglas, Polk, and Baker are looking.

There are players like Randy Moss, Brandin Cooks or Stefon Diggs that you can trade for and don’t have to pay. They’re playing on their current contract.

I’m against trading for a player you also have to pay and make one of the highest paid players in the league. See the difference?

If I have to pay said player I shouldn’t have to give up a first or 2nd, I should pay a 4th, 5th or 6th because the team trading him simply wants to dump salary or can’t afford to pay him.

So he doesn't really have a no trade clause. If a team trades for him, he can't block it. But that team would be stupid to do so without his sign off because without a new contract he's just going to hold out for them instead of the 49ers.

Imagine if Aiyuk is traded. The 49ers will absolutely not win the Super Bowl next year and even open the door for Detroit or my darkhorse Green Bay. My 49ers friend once thought Aiyuk was nothing to worry about, but is now sweating this potential trade and is pissed off.
