CB Justin Bethel Anyone?

Throw Dial and Wade and Bolden and whatever kids in the fire. If one emerges from the ashes a true CB who won't be a weak link, great. If not, find more kids next year.

Getting a 34 year old career special teamer to play CB accomplishes nothing for this (or any other) team.
If you are starting one of Dial, Bolden, or Wade, HE WILL be a weak link, the weakest starter on the team; only OT's are close.

We carry 10 DB's, not counting Schooler.

Our top 6 are Peppers, Dugger, Hawkins, Gonzo, Jones and Jones. Of course, Mapu also takes reps at safety, but I count him as the LB I hope that he will become.

We have room for FOUR more. Personally, I think Wilson is a "lock", a 3-year starter at the position.

THAT LEAVES THREE
We have Wade, Austin, Bolden, Dial and Hearn (who is headed for the Practice Squad).

I think that the most likely to make the 53 is Wade. THAT says a lot.

Are these four so good that we don't need any free agent competition for three roster spots?

How many reps do YOU think that the 9th or 10th DB will get? Let's be real. These players better be very. very good at ST's or they won't be active. One thing that I KNOW is that Bethel would be active and get lots of reps in every game. I suppose that one option is for Wade to bet the #8, and for 2 players to spend the year learning in Practice until they are viewed good enough to push the others for reps.

Bolden was making a name for himself on special teams til he was cheap shotted.
I see Bolden making the 53.

I agree with you regarding Bolden. He is a top kick returner. That helps him. I would note that the team did re-sign Reagor, last year's kick returner.

There are really four openings at defensive back.

We all have our favorites, and the one we want to vote off the island. My order is as below, understanding that we could/should bring in an upgrade or competition. With no camp injuries, and no additions, I would vote Dial and Hearn off the island and hope to add them to the Practice Squad.

Wilson
Wade
Bolden
Austin
Dial
Hearn

And who's playing the other Outside CB spot opposite you?
Hi capn nice to meet you.. I was drafted in the 7th round, I love to play with a tenacity and I have great ball skills.. I even picked off Josh Allen.. my name rhymes with tossin..

Sorry Tossin, but I'm signing this vet to stabilize the outside position until you show that the last month of last season wasn't a mirage.

Bolden, Austen and Wilson I hope all make it.
No room for more DBs.
Unless your signing a stud safety and there’s one left on the market who’s name rhymes with Simmons.

I like it!!

No problem capn... I feel I have the advantage over anyone coming into to system, save for gilly.. however I'm part of the fist team defense until someone beats me out..

We have done historically well with these type of guys I like Bolden also I think we are set @ CB for a while.

Dugger, Peppers, Hawkins (with Mapu having occasional reps)
Gonzo, Jones, Jones
Bolden, Austin, Wilson
======
Hope is not a plan. But even if all three make it, we still have room for one more defensive back. Currently, folks want Wade or Dial.

Wade has been solid.

Wade has been solid.
OK, I'm fine with your three plus Wade. I just would like to see some competition and a Plan B in case of injuries, or if ALL FOUR don't look as well as you would like throughout camp and the pre-season.
