I said it when pick 32 was on the board and could not believe it when they did not take him.
This guy is going to be a star WR. He has it all, speed, smarts, great route runner great separation and can play slot and outside.

Not knocking Polk, but talent wise McConkey is in a different tier.

We have Pop Douglas on our Roster he's a small but plays a lot like McConkey. Polk is a different kind of player potentially let it play out and I like McConkey too but I think we are going be very happy with Polk and Baker.

The Chargers WR situation with the departures of injured Mike Williams and the Trade of the consistent Keenan Allen will be very interesting. Yeah they need McConkey to hit from Day 1 a lot of pressure on him. That said the Chargers WR situation is not so much better than ours on paper a lot of "IFs".

Reminder that the Pats traded down from pick 34 to 37 in exchange for moving pick 137 up to 110. Then with picks 37 and 110 they took both Polk and also Javon Baker. So it’s not whether McConkey is better than Polk, but whether McConkey alone is better than both Polk and Baker.

Mcconkey is a slot receiver, and they are already set at that spot with Douglas and Bourne, they needed WR’s that can play outside the hashes.

maybe Pats thought his name sounds too much like Mac’s name

Based upon what evidence?? This declaration is silly in late June. It’s not early, it’s TOO early. Can we at least see them practice in pads at full speed a few times and maybe even a single preseason game?

Don’t you mean Brock Bowers? Imagine a bigger, faster version of The Murderer we had at TE. But Bowers is an Eagle Scout with no tattoos.

Did you see what the Rams were offering to the Jets at 11? Their first (19), second, third, and sixth round picks.

Imagine the scenario if we had traded out with thd Vikings at 3, then to have the we Rams offer us another boatload?

But Bowers is worth it.

Your written English makes my eyes bleed. What did commas and semi-colons due to you during your childhood that cause you to never use them? Can you show me on the doll?

The Chargers WR situation is definitely worse than the Pats, as of today. There aren’t many teams in the NFL with that dubious distinction, but the Chargers are one of them.

Used “due” instead of do.

McConkey is going to get a lot of pub due to the Wr core being cast off over there. Of course the media is going to focus on him. I’ll admit, McConkey was tempting, but so far we have to like what we’ve seen from Polk. Big hands, 9 5’8, good separator. Team definitely needed someone with those type of traits. Looking at McConkey objectively, nice player but his skill set might be redundant with Demario Douglas already on board. Training camp can’t come soon enough.

The Patriots and the fans will regret a lot of things about this draft and, especially, their pathetic FA period....I think so anyway. It is hard to tell how the draft will work out until we see these guys in training camp.

Will "Slow" Polk be able to get open? It seems that way so far, but let's see how he does in camp.

Will Baker be the Headline Maker, in the wrong way, i.e. another Jack Jones or worse? We will see.

Is there a starting caliber LT on he team now?

Yeah, playing without a QB is awesome. They could have made Bowers an H-Back, re-signed Elliott, and played with no QB for another couple of seasons. Just think of “ the haul” they could get picking top 3 every year until 2030?

It has been so much fun watching them play without a QB since Brady left, I wish it would never stop.

The thing I like the most about Polk is his toughness. He goes after the ball, instead of waiting for it. I want receivers that play the way Steve Smith played, regardless of their size they see it as their ball, and you aren’t getting it. Because of their recent failures people talk about how weak their roster is, and that’s understandable, but if they all play with that mentality, where you make the opponent earn every inch they get, then they can outplay expectations, and develop into a much tougher and better team. And while I definitely want to see fewer penalties, and much better execution this season, what I want to see under Mayo, more than any other quality, is a much meaner, tougher, nastier team. And that can start with the offense running the ball down opponents throats, and receivers outfighting defenders for the ball, and blocking their asses off. I can handle another losing season, I can’t abide by a soft team. A new mentality first, then the wins will come,

The you and I part of 'we' seem to have that capability. The Sam and Fred part of we definitely feel it's never too early to beat the holiday rush and panic NOW. Unfortunately the holiday they'were trying to get ahead of this year appeared to be Easter.

The only way you could keep Sam and Fred happy would be to convince Clark Hunt to give Kraft the Chiefs in return for a Day 3 pick. And then they would cry that it was a 6th rounder. They would stay happy just as long as the New England Chiefs won every game, forever.

For me personally.. I think we would have regrets if we didn't take Drake Maye..

Not really how it works. They still would have had a player at 137 (possibly Baker).

McConkey wax the guy I was hoping for. Hopefully Polk works out.
