Lol you don't even know which year you're talking about for the Rams. You mentioned them winning a Super Bowl and having the worst year for a defending champion and having a fire sale. The "fire sale" you mentioned was in 2023 when they let Wagner walk after a one year rental and traded Ramsey for a third. Guess what happened last year? They nailed the draft and were back in the playoffs where they narrowly lost to the Lions. Looks like the Rams proved you can build a solid team in free agency or through the draft. You can't even keep track of your own nonsense.
I wasn't confused at all... the Rams sucked in 2022 with all those players they let leave via a fire sale. You don't hold a fire sale unless you're trying to fix your cap mess and have to scuttle your highest paid players. They then did a decent job in the draft and wound up winning ten games, which is pretty easy when every other team in your division besides the 49ers suck and you're in the weaker of the two conferences. The Rams are still well coached, but they weren't particularly good, they were just in a good situation.
Once again you like to cherry pick and argue in bad faith. We both know that was Bill walking back comments he made about being last in cash spending and then had to tuck his tail between his legs and backtrack. No one is ever going to do what Bill and the Patriots did but it is pretty clear there are other ways to win in this league but you'll never admit it because you're Andy 2.0.
He didn't make up figures about the Patriots being last in cash spending... those are what is referred to as data... facts.

There are other ways to win in this league, the Rams showed us. Trade or fritter away seven years of first round picks, put yourself in a massive cap hole... and you too can win a single ring. Then you'll have to suck, be average and climb your way out of that mess.

Meanwhile the guy you hate so much, he didn't give away his draft picks, he kicked them down the road. He also didn't spend a wild amount of cash, he simply used existing contracts to kick cap down the road... he won three rings while playing in four Super Bowls. That's the guy you think sucked at his job. Laughable...

Lol so you're saying they sucked in 2022 because of a "fire sale" that didn't happen until March of 2023? They were also in a division last year with 3 teams above .500 so it isn't like they has some cakewalk.

Who said Bill "made up figures"? What I said was he mentioned how they were last in cash spending the last few years and everyone took that as a shot at Kraft so a couple weeks later he walked it back so it wouldn't look like he was calling Kraft cheap. No team is ever going to have a 20 year run the way we did unless they have the greatest quarterback of all time. So most teams are going to do what it takes to win a ring any way they can.

You can keep crying about how everyone hates Bill but it isn't the case. Most of us are just rational enough to acknowledge that even as the best coach of all time he isn't infallible and things were poorly handled down the stretch run of his time here. You can keep banging that drum and defending a wall that no one's attacking all you want.

No, they sucked even with a bunch of pro bowl players in 2022 because their offensive line was garbage and so was the team around those good players. But that's what happens when you pay a few way too much and have no cap space left over and no draft picks to fix it.

Most teams do, they spend stupid amounts of money, they trade draft picks and fail miserably... you only focus on the ones with a modicum of success in the moment and ignore all those teams failing whilst still falling into cap debt and trading their lifelines away. You love a team when they're spending, say "why not us," then ignore them when they win 5 games next season.

I'm not defending Bill, it ended in collaboration anyhow.

I also don't think the Patriots should change one iota about the philosophy he brought in spending to the cap and not overspending or trading away picks in desperation. It's a team sport. If you give one guy all the money you'll end up with what they had in 2000 when he arrived, one big armed QB, a few overpaid good guys and a bad overall team.

I root for the laundry... not the coach, the QB or the owner.

You are overrating Reid. Prior to Mahomes taking over, he was known as a terrible game manager with McNabb/Eagles (a very good NFL QB) and was fired. During his time with the Chiefs, they had Kelce, Hunt and Hill for a few years, but were an afterthought in the AFC with Smith at QB. They instantly go to 6 straight AFCCG's with Mahomes with bad defenses and poor O-line play during some of those years.
Winning cures everything.

It does seem quite odd though that since the rules have favored the WR's allowing them to get open easier, yet their value has gotten out of control. You think it would be the opposite like what has happened to RB's. I guarantee you greats like Jerry Rice, Michael Irvin, Randy Moss, Terrell Owens, Chris Carter etc. are shaking their heads at the current salaries.

I think it's weird that a team pays so much for a WR who missed a lot of games last year, especially since hamstring injuries can end careers. They better hope he stays healthy.
