I remember Sheard was taken a few picks later, but I saw him as more of a late round 2 guy if I remember right. He eventually came here, if nothing else.

I feel like many of us wanted Brooks Reed at that 33 spot, which did not work out either. Justin Houston really would have been the right pick there, but slid all the way down to the 3rd for whatever reason.

In Houston’s case, I believe it was Weed.

obviously the team knew Strange's injury situation and how much time he will miss this season.
they le. went out and signed Leverette and made sure Onwenu stayed.
they also had D Andrews, J Andrews, Sow, Mafi available. yet they still used a 4th on Robinson.
it would not surprise me to see Leverette, Sow, Mafi, Robinson on the team. Strange on PUP. J Andrews I am on the fence after D Andrews extension

total BS
today, where Strange was drafted, or by whom, is irrelevant.
he played to league average as a rookie. he is on the older side so his room to grow may be limited.
the management that drafted him, then went out and drafted 3 IOL. the next management group then went out and signed a free agent OG and drafted an OG.
everyone wants Strange to get well and succeed. many question if he will
The only player on this team I am rooting not to exceed is Juju simply because I hate him but I haven't seen anyone rooting for Strange to fail. Many people don't like where he was picked or how he has played so far but Woozy has decided to cling to Strange being good as one last memory of Bill for some reason.

They're not going to cut Jake Andrews just because they reworked David's deal to guarantee his money for this season. If David decides to play next year, they'll rework his deal again, Jake has three more years left on his rookie deal, he's cheap, they still need a backup center and replacement for David when he goes... that makes no sense.

There's nothing the collaboration station is doing that is out of the ordinary... nor was there anything different last offseason. The last few years the Pat's moved on from Shaq Mason, Ted Karras, Ferentz, they moved Onwenu outside and David Andrews mulled retirement. You draft for need, they had a need for interior offensive line especially knowing Strange would miss games this season.

The only reason you're still talking about a guard on page 6 of like the 5th Strange thread this offseason is because BB drafted him... you're the obsessed one, not me chuckles. I'm just annoyed you guys are slamming a good player who just got hurt trying to play on an already injured knee... pathetic, in a word.

There's a whole season and a half's worth of tape on Strange that says you don't know what the hell you're talking about and we already know you have BB Derangement Syndrome.

You bring up Bill any time Strange is criticized. You need to move on. Bill's gone but Strange is still here and that's why people are talking about him but you can't seem to see the forest through the trees.

BS… you’re the king of bringing up Bill. We were talking on the Juju thread and out of left field you insert the Malcolm Butler 2017 Super Bowl decision. Laughable….

Onwenu signed the largest OL contract in Patriot history and all you people want to talk about or start numerous threads about is Strange.

I remember Brooks Reed as one those weird names posters were enamored with. But Houston and Reed were in the 2011 Draft.

I think posters do want to see Strange fail to prove a point. When a pick is not popular and Bill goes against the consensus, that pisses fans off and are chomping at the bit to say they were right when the player Bill drafted fails. Case in point N'Keal Harry and the WR's that went after him.

Lol what? I think you have me confused with someone else. I haven't said anything about Malcolm Butler in a while. People talk about Strange because the jury is still out on him but Onwenu we know he can play. When he signed the deal there was a thread and I think pretty much everyone was happy to have him back. Bill deserves credit for finding a late round gem like Onwenu who can play well at multiple spots and I am glad to have him back.

I think he’s gonna start the season on the PUP list; same perhaps for DawgHouse Bourne as well…

I hope Bourne is on the PUP list as well because it'll allow us to keep Thornton around a bit longer before cutting ties...

I don't know maybe I am just not seeing those posts but ideally Strange works out but as far as Harry goes I desperately wanted him to work out. For a few minutes in 2019 it looked like we wouldn't even need him to develop that quickly with that famous picture of Edelman, Josh Gordon, Antonio Brown, and Dorsett all on the sideline during that one game Brown played. Then of course by the time Harry could come off IR Brown was long gone, Gordon was released, and Dorsett got banged up around that time.

The issue with Harry is that there were just so many early signs that he couldn't play. Many of us saw the training camp footage where he looked slow as molasses then he ended up with the ankle injury that landed him on IR missing half the year. Once he got back he didn't do much either and I will never forget him getting bullied on that slant against Bradley Roby that led to a pick. All the early signs combined with the fact that AJ Brown, DK Metcalf, Terry Mclaurin, and Deebo Samuel all had 800+ yards that same season and were available when Harry was taken that didn't help things either.

So maybe people weren't necessarily "rooting" for Harry to fail but I agree the tide turned on him almost instantly.

Yeah wrong. That was a terrible ****ing pick by Weird Al.
I remember the reasoning behind it. The Raiders were so arrogant that the rest of their team was ready to win they were saying a K was the missing piece. They took him at 17. 17! Shaun Alexander went two picks later which was a need.

Happened during a game.

With him in there, the Patriots reeled off 4 straight 100+ yard rushing games. Then he was leg whipped to the knee.
Very sure he first got hurt in camp on his birthday. After that he was never 100%.

I understand he was also badly injured during a game (Chiefs?) but I'm unclear if that was an aggravation of the original injury that had plagued him since TC, or a different one.
