Yeah. I really believe it will all come down to camp performance. In a perfect world Drake lights it up, takes the bull by the horn and becomes the starter. However we know the team wants to develop him correctly, and start him whenever he's ready.Or they're giving him a redshirt year. It's okay if Drake doesn't play much this year.
Not that I'm questioning your QB whisperer acumen, but I think, to the likes of us, anyone good enough to be listed as a QB on a pro team's roster is going to pass the eye test on these drills.Maye's footwork looks pretty good in these clips, if a bit... hoppy? Not sure if that's an issue. But it's clean, at least.
If Zappe ends up QB 2 it's because Jacoby is on IR and Milton, unsurprisingly, never learns how to have any accuracy, Maye is then #1 and Zappe #2.If Zappe ends up QB2 then that means Drake isn't what we thought he was.. YIKES!
This logic makes no sense to me. Maye will either be ready to play week one or not. If he’s ready, he should be the starter. If he’s not ready, he shouldn’t be the backup where he’s one play away from being put in. He should be inactive. If Zappe ends up QB2 then that means Drake isn't what we thought he was.. YIKES!
That's a scenario that I could definitely see happening. If Zappe ends up QB 2 it's because Jacoby is on IR and Milton, unsurprisingly, never learns how to have any accuracy, Maye is then #1 and Zappe #2.
FYI, barring injuries, the odds of Drake Maye not being a franchise QB is almost zero.

It looks like Milton's base gets a little tight together on change of direction. Maybe. I know it's only one rep, filmed from 50 yards away, on 5/20.Significant difference between Maye and Milton footwork. Maye looks a lot smoother.
