Never seen a coach so happy to have scored a goal early in the game and have a 1 goal lead. Not sure Monty is the right coach but i'm starting to become sure this is a marshmallow of a team.

Any word on Marchand?one thing the Bruins have been known for throughout the years is their toughness. Not so much any more
Some think thats why Pastrnak has been unhappy.you cant IMO. I think he mismanaged the roster in last years playoffs and he is doing it again this year.
Even though Florida looked like they were running low on battery last night Swayman was a rock. You cant take him out.Sway has been good in net and has made some unreal saves, but you cant start him every game. Everyone was saying he owned Toronto...but it went 7 games.
If that doesnt change yesterday the Bruins are done.He has given up a lot of goals against Florida too. Now, the D has been pretty bad in front of him so not all on him. I kind of like how the young guys are handling themselves but the rest of the team is a bunch of 3rd line guys and are not producing.
Someone else here mentioned that there is hardly any checking in the regular season.Cant figure how this team steam rolls everyone in the regular season and then flops in the playoffs 2 years in a row.
Bruins have won 2 in Florida and Florida has won 2 in Boston.Eh...I almost feel as though it would be better if game 6 weren't at home. For whatever reason through the years, there is zero advantage at TD Garden.
A few years ago I went to a regular season B's @ Panthers game in January and there was literally zero checking......the equivalent of 2 hand touch football. The only hit in the game was when one official skated into another official.Cant figure how this team steam rolls everyone in the regular season and then flops in the playoffs 2 years in a row.
3 days rest.B's made a concerted effort to carry the puck out of their own end through the middle rather than shoot it up the boards.... and the result was more open ice, more up tempo, more shots and surprisingly fewer turnovers (than FL).
Humpty adapted (likely reluctantly) in this elimination game.

Pasta was mostly invisible again.....0 hits, 2 giveaways

B's 2-4 at home
Thought I read $30 somewhere but you are prob right.I don't know if I'd go all the way to 'marshmallow' after they led the league in hits per game but they are certainly soft on offensive talent. They're particularly weak down the middle and it shows nightly. As a center Coyle is strong on the puck but not particularly great at manufacturing offense. That's okay in a 3C but in a 1??? A recipe for disaster. Don't get me wrong, every team needs Coyle types but as a 3 not a 1. This team lost 2 legendary playoff centers in Bergie and Krecji and it shows big time. That's hardly its only area of deficiency but the retooling has to start there.
Curious where you're getting the $30M number from. Most everything I've seen has them between $21.5-24M and half of that is predicated on not re-signing DeBrusk and Griz, both of whom would probably benefit from a change of scenery.
And would be five straight playoff losses to Florida at home with a loss in game 6. 3-8 in the past 11 home playoff games.B's made a concerted effort to carry the puck out of their own end through the middle rather than shoot it up the boards.... and the result was more open ice, more up tempo, more shots and surprisingly fewer turnovers (than FL).

A fireable offense? Thats a stretch. And would be five straight playoff losses to Florida at home with a loss in game 6. 3-8 in the past 11 home playoff games.
That's a fireable offense imo.
No way should an NHL team struggle that much at home. With last change.

If you watched the game and thought Pasta was "mostly invisible", then I think you need to get your eyes examined. Sure, you can say he needs to finish his chances and possibly make better decisions at times, but invisible? Really?Pasta was mostly invisible again.....0 hits, 2 giveaways
good point. I was just looking at their salary and cap going forward. they should have plenty of money to improve this team for sure. They'll have ~$30m in cap space to play with this offseason. No excuses not to upgrade the roster with the right players.

To @maust 's point they need tough playmakers at C and wing. I hate saying this but i'd take a guy like Matt Tkachuk in a heartbeat.good point. I was just looking at their salary and cap going forward. they should have plenty of money to improve this team for sure.

Teams need those guys
He's the exact pain in the ass attitude they need. I said that last year and I thought my son was going to shoot me dead. He's like the guy on the Yankees you hate and then he comes here and he's the exact guy you need.

Anybody who wouldn't want to see Matt Tkachuck with the spoked B on his chest just doesn't get the pro game. Unfortunately he's locked up through '29.
Reinhart OTOH is a pending FA. Not only would you be giving Pasta his dream center but taking a 50 goal scorer from a division rival. Like I said before though, that's a pipe dream. FL just hasn't got the room to re-sign him and all but a certainty they can't create it. Unfortunately multiple teams in desperate need of him have substantially more cap space than Boston. 1/3 of the Bruins cap space will go towards taking care of Swayman and Reinhart would command most of what they'd have left. With at least 4 forward holes to fill (3 if you believe Heinen could be brought back for a reasonable price) they'd have to move Ulmark to have the kind of room they'd need. It's the kind of 'just do it' all the eggs in one basket ballsy move that can make or break a franchise for years.
