Pats players you’ve given up on vs players you still have hope for

I am hoping he plays more in a LB role and less in a safety role. They looked like they used him more in the secondary in the limited snaps he played and he looked out of place.
Yes, and I believe that was done primarily due to the absence of a true FS last season.. it's going to be very interesting to see what exactly the team does with him.. I'd like him at LB as well.. he played well down the stretch last season.

Interesting topic.

Not a bad list. I haven’t given up on Strange yet but right now with the injuries he’s on the path to being a less talented Isaiah Wynn.

Not sure if Baringer should be on any list like this. “Not given up yet” means you expect better and he’s been good.

JJSS is on the given up list for me as is Thornton. Bad signing and a bad pick by the former regime.

Boutte won’t be on the roster in September.

BoneyT & JuJu should be on the Given Up list; they're straight Trash, homies. Booty's almost there too.

Never had hope for Wheatley or Fat Tony Mafia anyway; though I'm willing to give VD Low another chance.

Wideleft should be on the Given Up list too; but Baringer shouldn't be on either list.

As for Strange69, it's not a matter of "giving up" on him; it's simply that he was never, Ever, EVAH worth the 29th overall dam pick.

I too have given up hope for Shaun Wade - as a CB, but not yet as a Free Safety...

Wade actually played well last season, and finally showed something. I believe he will continue to ascend, he's got great Size and length at CB. But agree on Thornton and juju.. camp will tell us exactly where they are at. Another player of note Bledsoe.

Dude Sucks.

What evidence does anyone have that Strange is injury prone?
Claim he’s injury prone was posted somewhere. These days that’s evidence.
Missed time with 3 significant knee injuries last summer and last season. Makes me wonder if he was being asked to do something he couldn't physically handle.
Was it the same knee? Could it be he was being asked to come back too quickly? BTW from personal experience even if it was not the same knee that could be true. When I was rehabbing one knee it aggravated a previous cartilage injury to the other knee. So let’s wait and see if the offseason has let him get healthy.

If Bourne is on the PUP list, I could see Thornton being his replacement on the roster if he isn't traded.
I see a similar approach to last year - carry many and let the inevitable "injury, can't figure out the NFL, and simply aren't that good" carousel sort it out.

I want to see if Maye, Polk and Baker can bring something out of Thornton. No one is more on the hot seat than him imo. Holding on by a thread for sure. Hopefully Brissett or Maye find a connection with him so it’s not another wasted draft pick. Use your speed kid, get open, catch the damn ball and make it happen.

Honestly, Strange is ok but I’ve given up on him being anything special. He’s great depth to me but I really don’t want to see him starting if he just going to be ok the rest of his career. If he loses his job to Sow I’d probably be pretty happy about it. That and the fact that they have a quality back up in case of injury.

I’ve given up on Thornton, Juju

Haven’t given up on Strange (but he’s not making it easy)

I have given up on Cole Strange and Tyquan Thornton. Over drafted, injury prone and not even that good when they do finally play;

I weirdly still have not given up on Boutte, though I know it is highly unlikely he even makes the roster at this point. He has talent, and I do wonder if he can be productive if he is finally given some playing time.

Bourne seems positive about Tyquan, that would be a pleasant surprise to see him
Become the big play threat he was drafted to be.

They wouldn’t say bad things about their teammates so I wouldn’t put too much into it
Harry had great beach workouts too
