Maye seems like a good kid with a strong personality

I like that his team sucked, that the guys he faced were better than the guys around him, and he still performed at a level to make himself a top 3 pick. Can't really question that anyone carried him there.

I more than like that.

There is concern that he was never team captain which is a red flag if you are a qb.

Not sure what I make of that.

So you are saying he has a good personality?

Just as long as he doesn't show his "strong personality" by tossing F-bombs at the coaches during a game if he doesn't like the playcalling.

Actually, his personality reminds me of a good ol' boy smart-ass, dip-****, trash-talker like Philip Rivers. Let's hope his mouth doesn't write checks his arm can't cash. And in the modern-day officiating of the NFL his trash-talking doesn't lead to a bunch of 15-yard penalties for taunting.

Just looked it up and not sure where you are getting your info but it seems false:
Offensively, it’s Drake Maye, of course. Maye has been the leader of the offense for two years now and is one that doesn’t get rattled very easily. He’s also been one of the best performers for the Tar Heels offense and is a huge reason why North Carolina is 8-2 this year. Maye is currently sixth in the country in passing yards, with 3,145 heading into Saturday’s action. If the Tar Heels want a chance at upsetting the Tigers, a big performance from Maye will be needed.

Looks like he was captain in 2022 as well.

Adversity, likeable, team captain twice, can make all the throws, athletic family, not a ton of talent around him, AVP and Big Ben like him. I’m sold.

He sounds like a dope to me. But Mahomes sounds like Kermit, so maybe it doesn't matter what a QB sounds like?

I've been back and forth for months on whether to trade back for a big haul or to stay put and make the pick at 3.
If Maye is there you take him.

I bet none of his teammates went to his birthday party too!

Sounds like the same concerns Kevin Coster had with Bo Callahan.

T-Minus 8 hours....

Imagine your Dad playing in the NFL but you mom was the best athlete in the family.

Nice kid from a great family… And I think he’s going to have a very good career. Talent wise he could be considered as high as the number one prospect in the draft. Looks like patriots will be drafting him unless someone offers a ridiculous amount of picks, but even then, I think it would be a big mistake to pass on the kid.

Agreed… He definitely had a tough go of things last year and still managed to put up some very good stats. Dot his offensive line reminded me of ours the past few years… Give him a decent offensive line and some weapons and watch out.

He was a sophomore wasn’t he? Some programs don’t seem to go for a freshman or sophomore being a team captain….

Agreed… I think it would be a big mistake to pass on this kid unless they are giving you two first rounders this year and one next year plus a whole bunch more….this kid has all the tools/skills to be elite

Only thing from me being all-in on the Drake is the accuracy and quick decision making/anticipation.

If they draft him lets just hope his crazy talent and win football games while the mental aspect develops.
