Maye's my pick, and has been all along but i'm not discounting my second choice JJ.

I think he has a lot of the qualities that they will like and said they are looking for (Tough, Proven winner, Leader etc) and as far as i know he's the only QB that has met with Robert Kraft.

We've also been seen as the team most likely to want to trade back, so maybe they think they can trade back and get JJ.

Not saying this will happen but it's a real possibility imo.

I bet that offer isn’t on the table yet. Think the Vikings want Maye. Will wait until he is on the board at 3 tomorrow before they uncork their best offer. If he is not I can see them partnering with Chargers for JJ

I've gone back and forth on the two but the more I watch tape the more I like Maye.

The article states that JJ “met with the Patriots brass and even RK made a appearance”
RK probably made an appearance on all 3 QB visits. You know RK will not miss a chance to evaluate the person they may be drafting that high. My guess agin is he was at all 3 of the visits.
JJ happened to let it be known in the interview that he met RK. The other guys just kept it simple about their visit

I like JJ but prefer Maye.

I’m thinking it will be McCarthy straight up at 3. Harbaugh was exaggerating but only a little. 72% completion percentage on a team that basically only threw the ball when they had to throw it. Exceptional run blocking Oline but iffy in pass protection. Check out McCarthy’s 3rd down conversion rate. Great team but not an all-star team of skill players padding his stats. Two 3rd rounders Corum and the WR. Compare that to Nabors/Thomas and Odunze and crew or Jaylon Waddle, Devonte Smith and John Metchie for those that want to make the lazy comparison to Mac.

I am wondering if all of the talk about how the Pats are “open for business”, they like 6 QBs, they’ll trade down if Daniels isn’t there, they love JJ, Mayo’s comments about Maye’s low floor, etc… was just a long term smokescreen to keep other teams from realizing they are Maye lovers and to keep Washington locked in on Daniels.
FWIW: it's apparently "6 prospects," not 6 QBs.

I think JJ 's highest upside is being a good QB on a great team, like Purdy. BTW that is not a bad thing, but he's not the kind of pick that can carry a team like Maye has the potential to be.

JJ has a higher floor perhaps, but for the Pat's if the choice JJ or a trade down with the vikings, I'd take the trade down and take Nix late in the first. But that isn't what we need in this draft

. We need to take this risk and get the guy who has the potential to be great. THIS draft is the chance to do it. Let him sit a year to develop and add another draft and FA class so you can start to REALLY complete in 25.

Maye has more upside than Daniels, but OTOH Daniels is more pro ready. WAS is in a better position than NE to be competitive next year, that and they have six picks in the top 100. Their new GM Adam Peters is widely regarded as one of the best talent evaluators in the league and there's a good chance they'll land additional starters in this draft.

It's about 6 days too early for the "It's Gonna Be Maye" memes.

For all the Uber-geeks out there:

MAYE, THE FORCE, BE WITH YOU...ALWAYS.

I would prefer Daniels to Drake the Mistake. If Daniels is there at 3, take him. If not, trade back.

I think Daniels will bust.

He doesn't throw to the middle of the field. He drops his eyes and takes off at the first sign of pressure. He had elite WR's that will both be first rounders, and became too reliant on them, leaving easy completions on the field.

What a keen sense of the obvious.

I wish I could get paid 6 figures to provide such insight.
You are paid six figures for such insight.

Unfortunately, all six figures are zeros.

You make a good case (remember that Mac had great receivers also) and if you are right, then it is yet another reason to trade down, at least in my book (i.e. trade down no matter who is available at 3), and let some other team bet the house on a QB gamble while the Patriots build a solid foundation with some blue chip WRs and OLs.
