I 100% agree with this Bobby character. There is no way Ridley is coming here. He wants to stay in Jax and is helping them by waiting until 4:01pm tomorrow to save the 2nd rounder. Time to move on.

We all can see that it’s trending in that direction, but that’s not the point. The point is to not waste our time posting opinions of random dudes masquerading as Patriots reporters.

Would you rather work with Trevor Lawrence or Brissette if you are WR.
Would you prefer 0% tax in Florida or 9% in Mass
Pats can not compete with that.
But he will have another mental breakdown do its ok
Would you rather be the #1 WR on a team or the number 2/3?

It seems like the Jags are clearly waiting until the league year starts tomorrow to sign Ridley so they only need to send a second to Atlanta not a third. If he signs here it would be a big upset. Seems like any receiver upgrade will have to come via trade or the draft.

All the players mentioned in the herald story from last night are still available though. Tyron Smith, Jonah Williams, Justin Simmons, Danielle Hunter and Hollywood Brown still available. Adding 3 of those guys could really help the team. If the Pats could add Smith and Williams I would feel a lot better about going receiver in the second rather than tackle.

Love the Uche signing. He’s a really good pass rusher even if he can’t hold up against the run. The putrid offense, lack of quality healthy corners and injured Judon made it so the team played more contain and didn’t get after the qb much last year. I expect 10+ sacks again this year. Percentage wise Uche still beat his blocker at a very high rate he just got less opportunity to rush the passer.

Free agent breakdown of Lions WR Josh Reynolds. Not saying he's special, but he brings a play style and physical profile we don't currently have on the roster at WR. We don't really have an X receiver. Bourne and Thornton (if he panned out) are Zs. Douglas and Juju are slots. Reynolds would be the best option we have at X. At lease gives you a placeholder.
I like Reynolds as a player, but he’s not a game breaker. He’s a move the chains type of guy.

But he has to spend it right?
Isn’t that the CBA he’s forced to spend?
Assuming 5 million on draftees, he's still got to spend in the neighborhood of 30 million cap dollars to get to the floor, yes.

Am who is Chriss Elliss

Same

Yeah he doesn't solve all our woes at WR, not even close. But we don't really have much in terms of outside the numbers receiving options and he can help a bit there.

Not exactly. It’s total cash spending over a multi-year window, and 2024 is the first year of a new “window” which goes from 2024-2026. So theoretically they could underspend this year and be fine as long as they overspend in the next couple years to compensate.

My thought is they are gonna get a guy in the draft and pick up a guy like Reynolds.

Reynolds is a pro, he’s just not exciting.

Not a fan of Reynolds at all. Here and there he looks like an all pro waiting to break out, but he will crush your soul with mixed effort, inconsistency and heart breaking drops. Year after year he has had a clear path ahead of him to really have a major role and he simply has never seized it.

Pats are probably still top 2 or 3 in the league in available cap space this year, and still #1 in the league in cap space in 2025, even after their moves so far.

Trade for Mike Williams or Tee Higgins
