If they restructure Juju by converting most of his $7M guaranteed salary into a signing bonus and then cutting him as a June 1st designation, they'd gain back around $3M of cap space with about $5.6M in dead money next year.

On June 2. One of the reasons this rarely gets used is the relief isn't immediate.

The difference between pre- and post-6/1 trades is when dead money hits. It is always the case that all future obligations move to the new team unless explicitly stated otherwise.
