Tre white was an all pro, injuries derailed his career.. I would take a chance on him as a 2nd CB opposite Gonzo.
I remember him having a good year and a half or so. He's most famous to me for frustrating Gronk in one of the games to the point where Gronk drew a personal foul or OPI. I know he got really rough with him on the sidelines but White was draped all over Gronk a few times and the refs wouldn't throw a flag. I didn't blame Gronk at all. Other than that he hasn't really played at an all-pro level. But yeah, I would take him opposite Gonzo, like you said. However, people shouldn't expect another Gilmore-type contract or production (though we know how the first half season went there until they took him off the leash).

I remember that game! It was at Buffalo if I'm correct. Gronk was playing hurt at 75% and still was giving guys problems. The only way guys could stop gronk was to foul him or hit him low. I have to say 2019, 2020 tre white was playing at an all pro level.. the injuries are what has slowed his career. He'd be great opposite Gonzo, our secondary is pretty deep as currently constructed but adding another veteran like tre white would be nice. However He'd probably want to go to a contender.

Didn't he get hurt again last season?
Yup, 4 years in a row. Hasn't been fully healthy since 2019. And he's become a head case along with being a prima dona WR. Not a good fit, even on the cheap.

Not sure what happened with him but he got benched and replaced by Broderick Jones, you know, the guy the Jest say they weren't targeting but are targeting an OL this draft after having major problems on the OL last year.

I'm sorry reporter. What was the question again?
The Pats have $100M cap space in 2024 and $200M in 2025. How much do you think RK will allow in the budget? Mayo said they were going to "burn cash" and then retracted his statement saying he misrepresented the situation. Do you think we could "burn cash" with $300M available over the next two years?

The ol "burn cash" analogy.. when will fans get over themselves.. in wich mayo was joking about.. furthermore burn cash isn't what they are going to do.. they have always been a fiscally sound organization with all of thier business.. you don't become billionaires doing the opposite.

They will spend, the know they have too. The draft is good, but not a logical way to rely on year in and out to remain competitive. You must retain your good players That you do hit on, and sign FAs that will impact your team. While bringing along young players. I've said it before and I'll say it again.. the Patriots will be a better team than they were in 2023, whoever is at QB will be better than Bailey Jones.

We have enough injured underperforming WRs already. Go get Ridley and Hollywood brown in FA..

Yes, they chopped off the final year of his previous contract as part of last year’s pay cut.
Let me ask.. would you think he would be a viable option at FS?

Mayo aplogoized for his mistatement. If he was joking there was no need to apologize. You are making excuses.

They are 32nd out of 32 teams in cash spend over 10 years. The worse in the league. Fiscally sound? Too funny. Do you work at the Orchids of Asia?

Dodged the question again. You are consistent, 2 for 2. Dipping and dodging. I will ask the question in a Yes or No fashion to make it easier.

The Pats have to spend about $100M this year per the league's legal contract with the players union. Do you think the Pats will have a cash spend of over $100M, by using void years or an equivalent mechanism, since they have to most 2025 and 2026 cap space in the league?

Absolutely not. We need a real free safety - there are a bunch in FA. Spend some money on McKinney or equivalent, stop being cheap.

The first step in a rebuild is a top 5 defense - check out how we rebuilt in 2001 to 2004.

I'll make It easier on you sense you are making it harder on yourself.. per the CBA all teams have to spend up to a certain amount. The know they have to spend, I say it again so you won't falsely accuse me of excuses. They know they have to spend. I can't even sit here an assume that I know what they will spend this season, next or whatever. I just know that Bill is no longer here so they have no whipping boy. Fiscally sound meaning all thier businesses they have..

Of course they are last in spending it's no excuse, no team I'm sure wants to pride themselves on being last in anything.

Since you work for the Foxborough gazette you should already have intimate knowledge right? So again no excuses here.. I don't know WHAT they will spend but can we agree they have too??..

Agreed, we have a top defense by 2024 standards.. we have similar pieces to that era.

gonzo,Peppers, Dugger, Beast-more, Godchaux, Jennings, uche, white, j. Jones, Bentley, Tavai.... however that FS spot definitely needs another piece added. I agree also don't be cheap.

Jo. Jones at FS and a top corner would work for me as well

CB: Gonzo
SS: Dugger
FS: Jo. Jones
CB: C. Awuzie/X. Howard
N: M. Jones
LB/S: Peppers

Tre White came back last year and was replaced by a 7th rounder after poor performances. He then proceeded to tear his achilles. I don't think he could beat out Myles Bryant or Alex Austin at this point. The Bills have an enormous need at CB and they just got rid of him.
