This has an opening post with good commentary and information, which we definitely recommend reading.

What's the context that you don't like him though? I definitely wouldn't be excited about him at QB, but that wasn't my intention. I don't see a long term solution being added in free agency (Baker). And if we do get a guy in the draft, you're still going to want a vet mentor to go with him and I think Brissett is the best option for that out there. If we don't get a guy in the draft, then I think we still need an adult in the lockerroom because two hard-headed youngsters like Mac and Zappe won't work.
Biscuit he just too average doesn't move the needle we'll be drafting Top 5 again with him.

He won't be a First Rounder in this Draft may be Second Rounder max.
He has every measurable over Zay Flowers. Every bit the route runner Flowers is, but McConkey is bigger, faster, more agile.

I think pats should at least do their due dilligence on Russell Wilson. 26tds 8 65%
And that was supposedly the bad season
He's gonna be cheap. I know he rubbed people wrong in Seattle and he just don't fit with Sean Payton but his problems aren't hard work or not being a professional. With his #s pats are 11-6 last year. I know why people immediately brushed off the idea
Seems like a train wreck but this time last year Baker cost 4 mil for 1 season

Yeah, but this class is truly loaded.
I am warming to moving #3 getting and getting a haul and some Elite Offensive Players Potentially in the Draft and roll with Nix or Pennix Jr as or QB. Imagine Nabers - Nix or Nabers - Pennix Jr on Day one and day two. That's Two good players and we could use 34 to Trade back into the First.

Depending on the first two picks, I agree. There are three potential top-tier QBs, depending on which scouts you listen to. If the Pats see a guy they think can go and he's there at 3, don't overthink anything and take him! but say they like Williams and Daniels and both are gone by 3...if you're not sold on Maye (or whichever the third one there is at), then either you grab MHJ or you trade back, not too far, and try to get more ammo in this year's second round (and a next year pick, at least, of course).

I like Penix Jr. I get the knocks, the age, the injuries, but he looks pretty good to me.

Every team in the NFL.
My man McVay and the Rams says hello.

I brought him up a month ago. There was no way he was staying in Denver. Not many takers here!

Wilson needs two things to succeed.

1. Deep threat WR's who can't beat top corners because his strength as a thrower is the deep ball.

2. An offensive line that can assist with him running the ball.

We have neither. He's going to be awful here.

He wouldn't cost us much knowing he will be counting his Denver $$$$$$ until Kingdom come sign me up for Russ. He's way better than Biscuit and the other Bridge alternatives.

And they have to want to come there. Do we have a QB? Nope. No stud WR is coming to New England even in a trade.

McConkey will be gone by 36 at the lowest. You don't find guys that can play both outside and inside as well as he can. Would love to have him but I do think we need to go QB-OT-WR in that order.

At 68 we could package our high 5th (136) to get up to round 2 around #61. Usually the 2nd pick in round 5 is in the 140-143 range, but this year it's more valuable at 136, like a low 4th rounder. The reasons are that Miami had to forfeit their 3rd round pick, and there are only a total of 7 comp picks at the end of rounds 3 & 4 (effectively 6 with Miami's forfeit) - usually it's more like 10 or more.

I don't disagree, but I think the same is going to apply to all the "bridge QB" or "veteran mentor" types and I think we're going to need one of those guys regardless of what else happens at the position (unless it's Mayfield).

Apologies if this has already been posted but I missed it. Just read this in today's news and notes column by Ian.

An already thin supply of available tight ends just got smaller.

And that's a problem because?

Except for a miserable 2024 season
