I would certainly be in favor of it. Other than RB, snd possibly signing Tyson Smith at LT it’s slim pickings on offense in free agency. But there are great options on defense, starting with Wilkins, I don’t think Chris Jones gets out of K.C. And if the Bucs don’t tag Winfield I would be completely in with going after him. He’s only 25 and he’s the best safety in the game.

There are some very good players available on defense. Could turn this unit into a monster. Offense just needs to be marginally productive and not crap their pants.

Barkley is also a FA. Ideally Henry would be the better dude to get and probably cheaper than Barkley due to age.

Unfortunately, I don't think the FA board lines up great with our most pressing needs. And I think the roster is pretty barren. I just don't see a 1 year turnaround as realistic. So I think the team needs to approach FA with that mindset. You can't try to fit square pegs into round holes. Don't sign guys just to check a box at a position. Sign guys that you think represent truly good value and can fit the team/play up to their contracts. That might mean signing 3 good defensive players and leaving the offense a mess again. It's unfortunate, but you can only sign from the list of available players.

I don't want to be sitting here next year with still a weak offense and a bunch of money sunk into it because we overpaid every "meh" starter so we could go 8-9 rather than 5-12. That short term gratification (if you can even call it that) would be worse for the long term future of the franchise.

I’ll take Barkley, he can play all 3 downs, and removes the need for an extra back for passing downs.
