I think as a placeholder/mentor, Joe Flacco would be the best option (and he and AVP get along splendidly by all reports.
If they're going for THE GUY in the draft, I expect Flacco to be signed. I'm very okay with that.

Flacco was worthless his last two seasons on da Jete.
Russ was worthless his last two seasons on DEN.
Now Flacco has one good half-season after getting off the couch.
It's all a huge crap shoot, IMO.
Better off staying away from both of them.
You're mostly paying for the names.
The players are of dubious value.
The only way to boostrap the team is with a young QB.
Draft one now, if he misses draft another next year, rinse, repeat.

Wilson is the last guy I’d want. He still thinks he’s a top QB, which he clearly isn’t, and he’s got a big ego. Not the guy you want around your future young QB.

I agree. IMO the best case scenario for the pats is to get lucky with a vet on a cheap deal until a rookie is ready. I wouldn't mind seeing Zappe with a few weapons and an improved offensive line.

A sleeper Cousin? Carson Wentz. Played back up to Stafford on the Rams for only $1.65mm. Won an important game for the Rams when Stafford got hurt.Would he like a chance to start again?
Only 31. He got on a terrible Washington Team. Previously he led the Colts to what should have been the Playoffs in 2021. He was blamed for the last two losses but it was their defense. That was a raw deal



I think he would do better than either Flacco or Brissett. This kid might be a perfect "bridge" He has more wins than losses and more TDs than INT. I would give him another chance. Saw a lot of Pittman on this film.

I’ll admit to thinking, way back when, if only NE was able to get someone like Wilson to play after Brady. He was a winner, seemed sharp, was rolling in Seattle… Oof. Wouldn’t even want him to come try out for free at this point.
