The devoid of a true FS is why Dugger isn't or didn't have the production. The FS like the Mike LB is essential for a defense. We need to address this in FA, my hope is mills resigns and he can start at FS.. he's done it in Philly..
I agree. Mills has experience and offers great value. I think he can be a really good player back there at a fraction of the cost as some of the guys on the market. Kind of a no brainer it seems. I don't know, maybe Chauncey gardener Johnson

Yeah, I saw that too. And I'm more on the Kirk Cousins bandwagon more than some others because he's somewhere we could spend our FA dollars and take some pressure off the draft.
I agree, I like cousins too. I'd also be open to Wilson, don't think he was ever a fit in Denver. His 2023 numbers were 23-8.. if we had that from any qb last season we are a play off team. We just need a proven vet to help us win and groom the draft pick. Both can be possible .

Yes absolutely. I like mills too. And the funny thing is guys that are FAs want to remain here! KB, mills, Henry all said they want to remain becuase the want to be part of the build back. With Phillips gone it definitely creates a realistic chance mills re-signs. It's pretty much a no brainer right? Mills has the size, range and instinct to play FS at a high level.

Cousins at 30 plus million coming off a serious injury? Yeah plenty of better options to spend the cap money.

Good Lord. Patriots wire(USA today) just posted a mock draft where the patriots get Justin fields and this is what they give up
2024 3rd and 5th AND 2025 2nd and 5th!
I **** you not.
If I'm the boss that Jack ass gets fired immediately. At the very least the mock draft duties is going to someone else, that person can get coffee and mop the floor

The cap is only going to go up, so 30 million isn't that big a deal. He's a known quantity with Jefferson and adds a lot of stability to the offense. The rest of the FA QBs are just bad enough that they'll lose the first few games and lead to a QB controversy within a few weeks.

This isn't THE option I'd take, but I can see the logic to it, if it's a road they want to go down.

Yeah even with the cap going up I’m not dropping that on old damaged goods.

Talent cost, be it older or younger. The El cheapo days are in the past in Foxboro. That only works when you have a GOAT at QB.. there is not way around it. Cost of living goes up, owners make more money each season.. so will player's contracts. You want to build a winning team you have to pay!

You need a bridge, I don't believe he'd cone here for that number..

I’m not building a team around an older QB coming off a devastating injury. That’s just me personally and my opinion.

Of course and your entitled to your opinion.. I'm not saying your wrong either I'm just stating the reality of 2024 NFL that's all. Like you I want a younger option at QB.. if Cousins came here for a bridge 1-2 years and it was for a reasonable contract I'd be ok with it..

JB, old Pats QB would make a perfect bridge QB for a rookie QB.
Depends on how long you want the rookie QB to sit. Briskett is going to lose games and that's going to create a QB controversy where they have to play the rookie before he's ready. We need an Alex Smith who is good enough to give the rookie at least a season to sit.

Played for AVP too. So he already know the system.

But I am not sure I want him starting a full season. I am fine with it if the goal is playing him 6-8 games before playing the rookie

If I’m drafting a QB at 3 I expect and would hope he’s ready and starting week 1.

It doesn't sound like that's the Wolf's preference.

Wolf's exact words are the " old system, drafted for fit value". He's drafting for talent, I know he still has to make the picks, I don't know why I feel so confident that wolf will correctly identify talent.. but for some reason I do.

Is that why Mills hardly got any snaps? Dude was so good, they wanted to save him for the playoffs? Mills is a jag.
