Really dumb to take the ball first in OT with the new rules. Massive advantage to the team that goes second. They get to use 4 downs where the first team probably only gets 3.

Personally I wish they would go back to the OG OT rules. Sudden death and that's it. If it's not "fair" then win it in regulation.

Every single one of these teams won atleast 2 rings. Pats (01, 03, 04, 14, 16, 18), Rams (1999, 2021), Broncos (98, 15), Ravens (2000, 2012), Bucs (2002, 2020), Giants (2007, 2011), Steelers (04, 08). They combine for 18 of the 25 Super Bowls going back to the 1998 season).

The 49'ers are the only team in that list to not have multiple Super Bowls, and they don't even have a single Super Bowl.

Shanahan thought his defense was gassed and they were. The real problem was on the 49ers final drive Deebo dropped an easy catch, Aiyuk committed a false start penalty, a lineman committed a holding penalty and the Chief's defense held them to a field goal.

The 49ers should have won the game handily, they turned the ball over, made mistakes at inopportune times and spots on the field.

The 49ers were less disciplined and blinked first... they lost.

It's seasons like this that make wonder if Adam should get in the Hall. Where we once thought he was a lock guys like Tucker and this latest crop with guys like Butker make me think they shouldn't open this gate.

Simply put, Aikman/Elway/Kelly/Young/Favre/Moon could not and did not do what Flutie did with what he had, and none of them was treated like garbage as Flutie was. Had they been, none of them would ever have been nearly as personally successful.

I feel terribly for everyone who sat through what I think was the 7th longest game in NFL history only to have such a sickening ending.

Shanahan gave KC too much time to tie after they kicked the FG to lead with over a minute remaining.

The score was never out of reach for KC to come back on. Purdy is OK, but 3 out of 12 3rd down conversions is FAIL.

Why if God's name didn't they run the ball here on 3rd and 4? Was the passing game working so well?

But if you score a TD going first, you have a massive advantage (unless they go for 2 points and make it) - 3rd possession is sudden death, and with those kickers and 4 downs to work with, it's a pretty sure win.
