No he didn’t, Do you lie for effect or because you’re lazy?
On March 19, 2021, Agholor signed a two-year, $26 million contract with the Patriots. In his Patriots debut, Agholor caught a touchdown from Mac Jones against the Dolphins in Week 1. He finished the 2021 season with 37 receptions for 473 yards and three touchdowns in 15 games.

Not quite 15 sorry you weren’t hugged enough as a child.
It’s a good thing your mom didn’t swallow you though.
That way you can light this board up with your sparkling personality.

Not that anyone is interested but Kingsbury is still available. Names were omitted man.
Yeah the fact Kingsbury hasn’t even been Interviewed by us is interesting.
Maybe Mayo doesn’t want a prior HC to question his methods?

2/22, and he didn’t even earn it all, clown.

Speculation. We haven’t heard anything about Mayo being a control freak like that.

Agree it is 100 percent speculation.
Just interesting none of the interviews have been ex HCs.
Kingsbury would certainly be someone interesting to speak with.

If that is the case, you must not want them to transition to more of a Shanahan/McVay style offense because, as much as I also like Big Mike as a player, it wouldn’t make sense for them to sign Onwenu to a top of the market OL contract and then switch to an offense that doesn’t suit his skillset/athletic profile.
Yeah all signs point to a scheme change that makes Onwenu less of an ideal fit. Not really sensible to pay him big money as a tackle. He’s a great right guard, but Sow can fill that spot.

The Rams offense actually went to more of a power running team, don’t know the exact term for that but they went less zone runs. So Onwenu fitting in I don’t think would be an issue.

and maybe Kingsbury was not at all interested, even in an interview

Why would an ex-HC want to be an OC for Mayo?

I kind of like the idea of bringing in Luke Getsy as the OC, then trading for Justin Fields for a mid-round pick and picking up his 5th year option. Getsy was Fields’ OC in Chicago for the last two years, so Fields would have continuity and already understand the offense. He would not cost much on the cap overall across two years in sum total, relatively speaking for a starting QB. He would be as good as most veteran QBs on the market at a minimum and has a higher ceiling where he might become an upper end QB with a little more development. This allows you to draft Marvin Harrison Jr as well. You can also sign some other good pieces in free agency - another strong WR like Mike Evans, or bring back Hunter Henry/sign Dalton Schultz? Then if you still want to upgrade from Fields after 2024, you can seek a QB in the 2025 draft.

I’ll see your Mike Evans and raise your Michael Pittman.
Fields wil be our second round pick more than likely.
Than maybe a 5th to Denver for Mac?

are we going to keep blaming bb for stuff after he's gone as well? the team has a great defensive roster,a lot of cap space and the #3 pick. what "rot" is there now that would discourage anyone?
Because this is how his GM role left the team offensive needs (not counting D). Can't fill all those positions with the #3 pick and $66M

Dear God.
And the rumors about targeting Barkley seems like a foolish waste of cap.

What has changed since Mike Reiss’ reporting over the weekend that Nick Caley was “well positioned “ to be the next OC? I don’t think anything really has. Just because it hasn’t been announced or reported, doesn’t mean they don’t already have their guy. Covington hasn’t even been officially announced as the DC yet, but no one seems to question that’s happening.

My take is the Pats are continuing their OC “search” to also look for a QB coach. Caley has not worked with QBs, so you’d think an experienced QB would be a must have if Caley is to be the OC. Luke Getsy, Scott Turner or Klint Kubiak have the experience to fill that position. They might also be looking to uncover quality candidates to fill the position coaches and offensive assistants openings by inquiring of the candidates in the interviews who they’d want to fill out their staff with if they were the OC.

It’s significant to me that the only in-person interviews we know of have been with Covington, Caley, Jeremy Springer and now Getsy. Getsy is being interviewed by the Saints tomorrow. Failing Getsy getting that job. I am thinking the four of them - Covington, Caley, Springer and Getsy will be named the DC, OC, ST coach and QB coach. Then, we can start speculating on whether Getsy’s addition might foretell an interest in trading for Justin Fields.

I caught a little of YouTube of Tom Curran’s appearance on the radio show with Andy Gresh and Christian Fauria. He said that Stephen and Brian Belichick are under contract with the Patriots for the 2024 season. Of course, they cannot be forced to be on the staff, but, if this is the case, neither could take a lateral position with another team without the Pats giving approval. The other thing he said, which caught my attention, was regarding Josh McDaniels. On this, Curran was a little unclear, but what I thought he said was McDaniels would have to reach a settlement with the Raiders before he could accept a position with the Patriots or any other team. If McDaniels was to have a role on the staff, that negotiation might be slowing this process down.

I know many of of you are excited about the possibility of getting an OC from the magic elixir bottle known as the Shanahan system. But, something Jerod Mayo has said a couple of times since he was hired resonated with me. Mayo has said the Patriots will remain a “game plan” team on offense, defense and special teams trying to make the other team play “left handed” like during the Belichick years. If that’s the case, can the Pats still be a flexible game plan team if you they went heavily to the Shanahan offense? Could they through these interviews also be gathering ideas and knowledge to incorporate some of the aspects of the Shanahan elements into their offense without fully going to it.

It seems to me that Kingsbury prefers an air raid kinda system, so it makes sense that Mayo would only interview people that are more familiar with the offense he wants.

This isn't much different than every year, other than that the needs are all on Offense. Are you making believe that we have only one draft pick. Almost the whole draft will be used for the Offense, with the probable exception of one DL in the first 4 rounds.
==========
Our Defense is fine. In essence, Jackson will be waived and the money used to re-sign our vets, perhaps replacing Dugger with a free safety.
Our ST will be fine with our all-pro quality returner coming back and a top punter, a solid coverage people. Yes, we will need competition at kicker, but that isn't a cost issue.
