I get the impulse to be indignant. What TFB and BB accomplished, and then what TFB accomplished even further in Tampa, are uniquely special and unlikely to be eclipsed in our lifetime. Even if Mahomes wins, he's still less than 50% of the way to just catching Brady.

Media and fans are used to having conversations about "the GOAT" because Brady kept that conversation active for the back 15 years of his career. It's the inertia. Everyone is a slave to the moment.

The meta between Brady and Mahomes is not new. I count the following "rivalries" discussed seriously over the years.

Brady vs. Manning
Brady vs. Rodgers
Brady vs. Montana

No one seriously debates these now. Or, rather, no one who debates these is taken seriously. Time will tell if Mahomes can truly catch Brady. He is already more impressive than Manning or Rodgers, but he hasn't caught Montana's pedigree, yet alone Brady's.

If Mahomes wins eight SBs, all you can do is tip your hat. It could never ruin my enjoyment of the six TFB won with us, because it will never touch the memories I have of all those awesome and unparalleled times.

Well Mahones is better in playoffs than Manning was at the same stage of their carrers but he wasn't better than Brady in them when they faced each other. He's very well may supplant Brady one day as the GOAT and I'll tip my hat then as well. Right now he's too far off to anoint him. I think KC will win because they have the better coach and quarterback.

If the 49ers are smart, not stupid like Ivan, they take a page from the NE Pats 2018 AFCC.

KC won the toss and deferred. So, the Pats basically burned up the entire 1st quarter with 2 drives holding the ball for 12:33 scoring a TD on drive # 1. KC only had the ball for 1 drive worth 2:00 + minutes. Keep Mahomes on the bench. Mahomes is the real NFL MVP and the best player on the field and Purdy is no match for him. Try to keep the KC offense cold and the KC defense tired and depleted like a Tesla battery.

Secondly, whatever was successful for SF in the 1st half, be ready to abort it because the KC defense will take it it away.

And for God's sake mix up they defense and DOUBLE Kelce. They have to make someone else beat them.

I suppose I wasn't clear enough, but I don't think Mahomes is even close to being in the Brady discussion. People don't realize how far apart they are; it's likely more than most realize.
