Vrabel fired in TN!

Kraft needs to stop wasting time and make a damn move. Right now it's all sentimental with Kraft. Bill is 71 and keeping around will not make the Patriots any better. Bill is 71 & stubborn. Move on, sign Vrabel who's 48 and draft a QB so the two can grow together. The Krafts are just delaying the inevitable.

1) new coach cannot be hired without all the NFL required interviews. I don't think that they can even start until after the Super Bowl.

2) If Belichick is going, there will be an exit strategy, probably not just an announced that Bill is fired.

The Kraft's are delaying absolutely nothing. They starte meetings (with Bill, where it needs to start) the day after the regular season ended.

No appreciation for BB whatsoever..... SAD!
Really what a take I want to NEP to get into this century of Offensive Football stop living in the past.

Who is? Not a criticism, just curious. Other than Harbaugh, he’s clearly the most accomplished of the potential candidates. There’s a lot to like with Vrabel and maybe he could convince Arthur Smith to return as his OC.
Forgive me if I’m not excited about an OC who was given weapons such as Bijan, Kyle Pitts and Drake London but preferred using the likes of Tyler Allgiere and Jonnu Smith instead.

I don't know if I am on board with Vrabel as head coach. He was never given a real QB, but he ran the Titans a little too old school for my preference.
I agree, even as much as I loved Vrabel as a player. He taught the Titans how to play tough but that only gets you so far, as evidenced by their subsequent downfall. I don't think Vrabel is nearly as strategic as BB is. Maybe he can come in and learn under BB if Mayo takes a job elsewhere.

Harbaugh is my top choice. I don't know who else is in the mix. If it's not Harbaugh then it would be a HC and GM (2 people)
Didn’t Michigan offer him over 100$ million over ten years?

Dad is gonnnnna be pissed when he reads this!!!

We are not, are not, are not revamping the Defense. Mayo would continue or Steve. One of them would be made DC.

I am hoping not but say we went with a whole new system under one of the top oc’s, you never know. They may bring in a new dc. Other than judon, barmore, Gonzalez, and maybe peppers tough to tell how effective/ valuable alot of these guys would be in someone else’s defense

Any chance Harbaugh would pick NE over SD or LV?

You have to figure having a franchise QB in place in SD is a big selling point, but they have major cap issues and will need to cut a lot of talent off the roster.

Vegas still needs a franchise QB but has some talent in places and a great facility.

NE has a **** roster, no QB, good cap space, a high draft pick and the challenge of being the guy that replaces BB.

Why not just keep Bill at that point?
because Bill is not the face of the next era of the patriots.

We can continue the old era and transition just so long. But sure, the Kraft's could decide on starting the team with a new franchise QB and a 72 year old coach. Belichick doesn't have many years of coaching left. There is no particular reason to have him be here.

In the end, the Kraft's must decide the best GM/HC/OC and assistant coach (OL, QB) structure and team to develop a new Offense under a new franchise QB (whether the QB comes this year, next or the year after.

My bottom line is that Belichick the GM/HC is not the best choice to head the team to lead the develop an Offense and runs deep into thje playoffs.

One alternative is to bring back the team. Bring back Pioli or another Kraft friend as GM, bring back Josh as Assistant Coach and make clear that decisions about the Offense are made by Josh, and that all hires, fires, trades and draft picks must be approved by Pioli's office. Basically, this would be adding Pioli and Josh to the current team.

Old school for the patriots is the best franchise in the history of the NFL.

I’d rather not. We don’t have a QB and need to completely revamp the offense. Not sure I trust Vrabel with that crucial task. Might as well see what Mayo can do if we just intend to hire another defensive minded HC.

I’m in agreement with you. Belichick isn’t the future, but neither is Josh, Pioli or any of the othe retread names being float about. That’s where my question came from. If you’re just gonna get the gang back together again, why not just keep Belichick? He has great working relationships with those guys. Create a 3-5 year plan if you have to and be aggressive with it. Bringing the old gang back together puts you on a 2-3 year plan imo. Belichick would be your best option for that 2-3 years.

No the owner actually likes him. I believe he shot his way out probably by threatening to just retire and go do TV for a bit if he wasn’t let go.
Dianna Russini is saying he didn't ask to be traded or released.

The current rule is January 22nd if currently employed by another team. You do have to get requests in and there is a time frame to get answers. So, they basically have until early to mid-next week if they want to not be behind other teams in the process.
