BB watch

This article hits the nail on the head: poor planning on OL came back to haunt the team.

It's not like several posters weren't raising the flag of concern with these moves but 6 SBs, right? What do they know?

Again, how many times does Bill's flawed decisions need to happen for people to get it, that he lost his fastball? It's all there to see, the facts are irrefutable. He's cooked, toast, done. It happens. Let's please move on.

No matter who you are - you're human.
And BB, despite his focus and drive, can't be unfazed by 25 years of security and continuity.
It mandates a level of complacency.
That's what allowed him to roll the dice with MP and Judge last year, with spinning a wheel for FA fits, with hiring his sons and his ex-players as coaches, and thinking any QB will suffice as long as he has his defense.
Well, the laurels gave out, and he got exposed. After 4 years of steady decline, it's time to pay up.

And maybe the biggest reason to move on from BB isn't that he couldn't rebound...
But, that this entire fanbase deserves some hope and passion. BB will never change his sourpuss, grouchy-grandpa routine.
This team and franchise needs a new leader who can inspire some excitement, a guy who can rally the troops.

That act is cute when you're winning (I've enjoyed more than a few grunt and snort press conferences back in the Dynasty days). Less so when you're not.

Just like many prestigious people in the world Bill has an ego. Asking him to step away from GM duties would absolutely make it even easier for him not to stay.
So what?

Our offense is dead last in its job: scoring. That’s on the glorified defensive coordinator acting as head coach who drafts for defense and then special teams before he even looks at offense.

I remember last year RT holding the team hostage.

I'm agreeing with you. I'm just stating the his ego won't allow him to stay here in a different role than he's had. No way he's taking a pay cut. He would not give Hopkins an extra 5.00 but he paid stuck in park Parker and boo boo juju.

IF that happens we can get ready to shake hands with trees and watch elephants fly.

It's funny... I can remember the same things being said about Brady.. all the "report" and speculation about him not leaving at the time.

Like Janet Jackson Bill wants "control"

I agree. I don't see a scenario where Bill gives up GM duties and only coaches. Even if he did, what GM would tell Bill, "no I am drafting a wide receiver not a defensive back".

If he’s back as only the head coach, great

If he refuses to give up the rest of his power, thank you and goodbye

Absolutely agree, Bill is paid as GM/HC 25 million a season. He'd also have to give up $$.. things come full circle. Kraft allowed him to make the call on the GOAT now the organization will make the call on him.

I think the order matters (Wins):
5, 7, 8, 10 ----> Extend Bill
7, 10, 8, 5 ----> Thanks for your contributions
It 100% matters.

It's a different discussion if Brady leaves and we have a steep decline and improve every year and this year we are back in double digits and in the playoff discussion. We had mediocre year, an uptick with a new QB and massive spending spree, then fell back the next year and hit an all time low the year after.

This isn't even a team where you can realistically say a few right moves and they can compete for a Super Bowl next year, we have to complete retool the offense and special teams almost entirely.

Shocking.
