Yes. Better choices come with a higher pick/picks!I'd be ecstatic if they take Harrison. Point is at #3, you have choices you don't have at #5 or #6.

It isn't hopeless because of where we draft and I think Harrison is off to Chicago. Sorry. Now's a great time to lose to the Jets and have it actually be a win.
Make it happen.
I'm hoping patriot players opt out, Bill does the right thing and we can all go into the off-season with some hope.
I want a QB but I'll take Harrison as a consolation prize.

Reason I used all 4 was because NYG SoS moved up .02 w/ GB win. We are .07 higher, so 4 wins x .02 = .08I detailed a bit further up the page, but don't even need all 4 games to go our way. Basically just need the Colts and Steelers to lose as many or more games as the Packers and Raiders. If the Packers and Raiders go 1-1 then the Colts and Steelers need to go 1-1 or 0-2, etc, for the Pats to tie SOS with the Giants. If they tie then the Pats win the #4 seed due to head-to-head. Could be #3 if AZ gets a win over Seattle.
Point is Pats need to lose. Play Rourke at QB and all the rookies or go for it on every 4th down like Panthers did yesterday.Yes. Better choices come with a higher pick/picks!
Sort of too bad we're at this point in the year. If there were 2-3 more games left, I'd also like to see Rourke see some time given all the buzz after the Jags lost him, but we'll probably have to wait until 2024 for that.Point is Pats need to lose. Play Rourke at QB and all the rookies or go for it on every 4th down like Panthers did yesterday.
I understand that's not going to happen, which sucks.
The first interconference tiebreaker is head-to-head. [Remember: there are three sets of tiebreakers: (1) teams in the same division; (2) teams in different divisions of the same conference; (3) teams in different conferences.]Reason I used all 4 was because NYG SoS moved up .02 w/ GB win. It was my lazy shortcut at it since I haven't tabulated the numbers.
Like Ian, you're missing the interconference tiebreaker which is above the head-to-head.
I'm a 63 year Pats fan and I always root for the Pats to win, especially so against the Jets in front of the fans who are making the trek. And I know that every player feels the same way. The look on the faces of Jeff Saturday and PEDton Manning when Polian had them taken out to tank a late season game told me all I need to know about how they felt, but I already knew that. It's very possible that PEDton's hostility to Indy now is a result of losing the perfect season on purpose that day.I’m a 30 year fan. And I want the Pats to lose.
People disagreeing with you does not, by default, make them “clueless”.
It’s simply executive function…immediate gratification vs. best for the longer term outcome.
It’s certainly subjective.
A win vs the Jets does absolutely nothing for 2024 season and beyond, a loss does.
Ultimately, I doubt the Pats lose to the Jets, and they end up at #6 taking best LT available.
Not the end of the world, but still need a QB so you are hoping a Mccarthy slips to the 2nd rd pick
That's not the way I understand it. First division record, 2nd conference record, 3rd interconference record. All of these are overall records, not head-to-head. If there's a tie after the 1st three or they're not applicable, you then go to head-to-head, common opponents, etc.The first interconference tiebreaker is head-to-head. [Remember: there are three sets of tiebreakers: (1) teams in the same division; (2) teams in different divisions of the same conference; (3) teams in different conferences.]
AgreedIt isn't hopeless because of where we draft and I think Harrison is off to Chicago. Sorry.
Then they'll trade back to #3 knowing 1st 2 will be QBs.Agreed
Fields has shown enough to not take a QB with the # 1 pick.
BB is getting his team trained for 2024.Point is Pats need to lose. Play Rourke at QB and all the rookies or go for it on every 4th down like Panthers did yesterday.

No sure bet that BB will take a QB that high. Then they'll trade back to #3 knowing 1st 2 will be QBs.
Tbf that was a completely different scenario. The Colts that year went undefeated up through game 14 and had a team that would have been .500 and a team with a losing record left and the front office basically said to them "sorry you don't get a chance to tie your greatest rivals and potential to make history".I'm a 63 year Pats fan and I always root for the Pats to win, especially so against the Jets in front of the fans who are making the trek. And I never called you clueless so why don't you get rid of the quotes. I was actually calling you out on your idea that it was hopeless if we got a worse pick.
For all any of us know a later pick might get us a better player.
Maybe the Pats pick the right guy.
Maybe they pick the wrong guy.
Maybe they pick a guy in between.
It's a crap shoot.
No matter what
There’s no inter-conference tiebreaker - if two teams have the same SOS and are in different conferences, the next tiebreaker is head-to-head.Reason I used all 4 was because NYG SoS moved up .02 w/ GB win. We are .07 higher, so 4 wins x .02 = .08

If the Pats & Giants have the same SOS, the first tiebreaker is head to head, per the NFL site:The first interconference tiebreaker is head-to-head. [Remember: there are three sets of tiebreakers: (1) teams in the same division; (2) teams in different divisions of the same conference; (3) teams in different conferences.]
OK, I stand corrected. So it's head-to-head, if it gets to that. There’s no inter-conference tiebreaker - if two teams have the same SOS and are in different conferences, the next tiebreaker is head-to-head.

You are correct, I'm wrong. The first interconference tiebreaker is head-to-head. [Remember: there are three sets of tiebreakers: (1) teams in the same division; (2) teams in different divisions of the same conference; (3) teams in different conferences.]
What it's like watching the Patriots the past couple of years.
