Celtics 2023 - 2024 Discussion

There’s just no energy. A bunch of jacked up threes and turnovers left and right, defensive break downs.

We’re feeling Brown’s absence big time. No one is going to the rim at all. No energy.

Lazy. Terrible defense in the paint. Careless passing. Awful shooting.

Mazzula ball is rearing its ugly head. 4/24 from 3. That would be the team shooting 16% from deep and at a high clip.

Celtics prioritizing star pecking order over winning down the stretch again. Yeah let’s keep isoing our 11-29, 3 TO star because he needs to take the game winning shot.

Derrick White is the Celtics best player…this is the game that really cements it.

Jayson Tatum is not a good player down the stretch of games. Derrick White is a cold blooded assassin.

How many times do we need to see it to believe it?

This has been such a great game. Didn’t expect that at all.

Strong 2nd half.
Gotta give Motown credit . They played hard all game.

Couldn’t tell if they were just trying harder for rebounds or if the ball was possessed with Pistons luck on every bounce. It was crazy how many times the Celtics boxed out correctly the ball caroomed off the rim into the one gap they weren’t covering.

I’m excited for the upcoming @OKC game. I think OKC is either the best or second best team in the west. Hope both teams are full strength.

The poor first half was as predictable as a sunrise. That they won the game wasn't. Last year it was a loss.

Once again, Tatum has the chance to hit the last second shot and... misses. He's a really good player but the greats make those shots.

I feel like I saw a stat somewhere recently were he's actually hit them at a decent clip

But I agree, right now it's hard to think of very many that he made

Bigger question is, why does it always end up in his hands? Design a play where it goes somewhere else ffs

How about just play basketball? Pass the ball to the open guy. Open guy shoots. It seems to work for 99% of the game.

This is why there’s no excuse for the two Js to be jacking up 40+ shots per game. Tatum should not be taking 31 shots. That’s a Mazulla leadership issue and almost cost them in an embarrassing way last night.

Ball goes to the superstar. Not that I agree with it all the time but that’s how it is. It won’t change unless he takes it upon himself to make a play to someone else.

Tatum and Brown are both game time decisions tonight. I don’t understand the Porzingis usage/rest formula at all. I’d think this would be a game he sits given last night’s minutes.

Would be interesting to see them play without either of the two Js.

Hauser really needs his confidence back.
