Has anyone even considered that the staff is considering building around Zappe? If that happens God help us all and pray for the Krafts.

They will be playing in front of empty stadiums if they try it. It’s a shame there is no minor league, because that would be the best fit for both he and Jones.

Fields will cost a fortune after next season and you don't really know who he is as a QB. You give him a big contract and you can end up with a Daniel Jones situation.

Don’t want Fields, as you said he will get an unreasonable amount of $$$$ for a really mediocre performance. Get the rookie and the good deal that goes with them.

So Jetssfans should have been happy that they won the game that cost them Trevor Lawrence?

Was Belichick right when he had Brady throw the ball into the stands to get the loss that gave them a home playoff game against Jacksonville?

I guess in your world Tunescribe anyone who ever has a negative take on something related to the Patriots is part of the “ fellowship,” which would make you the only person who isn’t in the “ fellowship.” IMO the “ fellowship” is those who botched and whined through their 20 year dynasty, because dominating for 20 years wasn’t good enough.

Most here want the higher draft pick over meaningless wins in December, and that’s because most here want them to have the best shot at getting better, not because they are miserable.

As I've said several times now, coveting good draft picks is fine and losing at least 11 games gives the team some (hopefully) productive draft capital to work with. Actively rooting for the Patriots to LOSE toward moving up a couple slots is pathetically miserable. (Or is it miserably pathetic? You're the apparent expert here.)

One fundamental difference is your belief in "meaningless wins." I consider winning an end unto itself.

You are one arrogant mother****er

That's an inaccurate and very unkind holiday sentiment, but I'll consider the source.

to think that makes them all “ miserable,” when in truth it makes them sensible. But hey, I’m glad you are happy with their 4 win season, anyone with standards that low is probably always happy.

When did I ever claim to be happy about this season? Here's what defies sense: being angry over a hard-fought upset victory by the team you allegedly support because of something you imagined could be possible four months from now.

“ allegedly support” and you are upset at being called arrogant? But then again you are the only true fan.i should have added smarmy.

Just make it easier and let us know when we have your permission to root for the higher pick. As the patriots only true fan only you can grant us that.

I guess that makes the vast majority of fans insufferably miserable,” because every Patriot fan I know wanted the higher pick more than a meaningless win. But then again you aren’t just any fan, you are the only true fan.

Yeah, ALLEGEDLY support. As in, being pissed off by and unable to enjoy an exciting win. No, I'm not the only true fan, there are quite a few of us here, actually. And certainly not "smarmy" -- I've been quite sincere addressing your nonsense.

Just make it easier and let us know when we have your permission to root for the higher pick.

Maybe pick your nose instead, THAT is something you can be sure of.

There's more ways to skin a cat. How did San Francisco do it? Or the Kansas City Chiefs? Both teams were making the playoffs every year and built a Superbowl contender.

I mean we always can trade up if we want a guy too..
I agree. But not if BB is making the personnel decisions.

Yeah, ALLEGEDLY support. As in, being pissed off by and unable to enjoy an exciting win. No, I'm not the only true fan, there are quite a few of us here, actually. And certainly not "smarmy" -- I've been quite sincere addressing your nonsense.

You’re the one who came in going “ fellowship of the miserable” if we were rooting for the higher pick. So if you want to throw **** like that around you better be able to to take it. The vast majority of fans would rather have a top 3 pick over a win in a season where they are going absolutely nowhere, and that’s true of any fanbase in any sport that’s in this position.

Maybe you can GFY

Ravens another team that technically never tanked watching the game.

I want a rookie over Fields as well but I don't see how or why he'd get a fortune.

He wouldn't get as much as Carson Wentz did because Wentz had a NFL MVP type season but even Wentz only got $15m-$20m when he signed with the Commanders and Colts. They did eat his signing bonus though so it looks more like $21-28m deals, but that's only because they took the dead cap hit. That money was supposed to be spread out over the contract.

I see Fields getting $15m.

Even the most mediocre QB’s are getting 35-40 million $$$ paydays, e.g. Daniel Jones. I would much rather have a rookie QB salary on the books the next couple of years than one of the guys getting a second contract and grossly overpaid

I see Fields getting 30 at a minimum.

It's one thing to accept defeat, it's another to root for it.

fields has about as much value as a "reclamation project" as zach wilson or Mac Jones.

no we should not take other teams trash hoping it is treasure.
