Sean McVay's team won five games then had the biggest drop-off in wins from a Super Bowl winner in the history of pro football last season. This season they're an under 500 team.
Are any of them coaching the 2nd team eliminated from Super Bowl contention? Did any of them have losing seasons in 3 of the last 4 seasons? Have either of them not won a playoff game in 5 years? Hmmmm, by my count nope. They had winning records in most of the last 4 seasons, have each won Super Bowls and multiple playoff games in that span as well.
Here's the thing.... Tua was saved because they got talent around him, but we know Bill would never have went after Hill as aggresively as Miami did. So how Miami took a QB that looked like a bust and turned him into a guy who is in the MVP conversation isn't a model we can assume here. Bill is way too gun shy at investing highly on that position.

So do you think that Miami is going to win the superbowl this year? What do we consider success around here anymore? We made the playoffs 2 years ago, was that success? Yes we aren't making it this year, but someone, either Bill, Kraft, or both, decided to ride the Mac Jones wagon until we really new what we had. Now we know it is a big pile of steaming dog crap, so we move on with no concerns. It is going to be interesting to see what we have in Zappe and the rest of the offense the rest of the year. And, I put no faith in click bait Currans journalism, he has absolutely nothing since Brady's dad stopped feeding him stories.
That and the stupidity of letting Judge and Patricia run his offense last year.
I don't think many people will care all that much if Bill retires elsewhere. He's very likely done winning SB's anyway.
I don't think Kraft needed to do that. It was common sense to give Jones one more year and then evaluate and decide if he's the guy. He also won the job in camp by being better than his competition. As it turned out Jones's play made that decision easy and there was no point waiting till the end of the season.
Judge and matty p decision was bad. But he also tried to move to the shanahan offense. He didnt have the coaches who could do it and more importantly the QB who could handle the changes instead of complaining about it publicly and to other coaches outside the organization.
I’m gonna have to disagree with you here. I see very little hate for Bill. You have a small group of people but those same folks have been hating on Bill for years, even the good ones. Most of the board is thankful and gives Bill his due. I’d also like to point out that it hasn’t been just a few down years. The talent on the team has gotten progressively worse, whether through FA or the draft. Bill just doesn’t hit on them the way he used to. The constant zigging while everyone else zags has caught up to him.
If they get the QB, all systems will work.
Yeah I don't think many hate Bill. I don't. Questioning whether he's the right guy anymore for the short and longer term future of the team isn't hate.
Reid got fired from Philly, you’re probably too young to remember. He thought Kevin Kolb was a good draft prospect the way BB thought Mac was.
I blamed BB for building a bad team in 2019, Is said he was an idiot for not grabbing a TE when Foster Moreau was sitting there in the 4th round. I said the signing of Marshall Newhouse would be a disaster. Brady got hurt in 2019, that’s why he faltered down the stretch.
You’d rather fire BB with no answers on a replacement than fix the actual problem.
just 2 yrs ago they flashed money in FA. Josh was here and we won games but couldnt use jonnu smiit and agholor properly who are now propersing elsewhere. Then josh left along with fisch ,zeigler and others. He tried to switch to the 49ers offense assuming patricia wull be upto it. He wasnt and the QB didnt 'like' the change either.
As julian edelman said yesterday in tom currans podcast about mac. Yes he was in a bad situation last yr and this yr but at some point you got to just make plays as the QB. Cant keep blaming the system and coaches and playcalling etc.
Weird... I don't recall those guys playing for the Patriots after Brady left.
There's a segment on here who will blindly defend Bill and look to shift blame wholly onto someone else when things go wrong. Last year was Patricia or Judge and this year it's Mac. They feel the need to make someone else the scapegoat for Bill's recent failures and completely absolve him even though he is the one who put these people in their positions in the first place. The buck stops with Bill. Yes, Mac, Judge, and Patricia have all been a big part of the problems but the biggest problem is Bill continually putting people in a position to fail. I appreciate what he's done here but it's time to move on. He's north of 70 and the game has passed him by.
Who else could he have picked as a QB in that draft? Couldn't go with Cam again, he had to try someone, either sign a free agent (I don't remember who was available) or draft someone else in a later round.
When Bill leaves the Patriots will line up candidates and interview them and find who they think is the best one. Like every other team does who is looking for a head coach. Not sure why the onus is on fans to come up with an answer on a replacement.
Right so moving on from a 71 year old coach who has missed the playoffs 3 seasons and counting out of 4 and is sub .500 since Brady left is "rushing headlong" in the direction of a league doormat. Or something.
Coulda fooled me. How did that genius Judge and Patricia hire last year work out?
